For any who wish this could have been more, there is a great spiritual successor to this game called The Last Friday. It is an actual game which is actually released. It will not heal the wounds of this project, but perhaps it can provide the game motif you wanted plus the support a real publisher can provide.

    2. Vance on November 28, 2015

@Neil - It plays okay. The rules are fairly well written, but you'll need to be ready to make a few judgement calls and house rulings on a few things. I think I said this ages ago, but the game is decent. I just wish Matthew had found a way to keep going. While I certainly am unhappy that I'm not getting some of the additional stuff promised and I don't mean this as an excuse for him, I think this is a perfect example of a single person getting in way over his head without proper advance planning and budgeting.

Matthew, I hope you are still alive. If not, that would be unfortunate...

      1. Is there any way you can provide the files (rules, cards, etc.) for those of us that ordered the expansions, "Night of the Necromancer" and "Campfire Feast"? That would be a nice start, however, I would much prefer waiting for the final product if it is ever expected to see the light of day. Please advise. Thanks.

      2. I'm not sure of the status of the "Evil Spares None" project since it seems that all communication from you on the topic has ceased and your website is gone.

      3. Do you have any new updates? How about the Psycrow mini and the CD you promised? Do you have any explanation for us? Could you please throw us a "frickin' bone" to let us know you are still there? It seems odd that you were so involved in this project from the start, but now you have totally vanished. We were rooting for you. Could you provide us an frank response as to what is going on with this project? Please respond. Thanks.

Hey guys, how does one report this project and/or Akana? The link at the bottom of the home page gives options that do not apply.

Groovy. Well Glad I am not the only one who has not received my full pledge list of items. Shot him messages via here and facebook. Anyone else get any luck getting their refunds or full items (other than the basic game item itself?) I was a Patron of Darkness backer and got nothing other than the basic game... and missing pieces :(

Kickstarter doesnt really get involved after money has been collected. I have reported plenty of projects and not once have they intervened. I am not even sure if they even contact the project owner.

The least he could do is post up the expansion for print and play... But he'll most likely never see this post.

    14. Gummiwummi on January 3, 2014

Unfortunately I ended up reporting him as well for the same reason.

@Paul Goddard - I still have my game / box /rules etc. I can look something up when I get home from work if you need

    15. Paul Goddard on December 24, 2013

Reported it as well. I was wondering why it was taking like a year to get the first expansion and low and behold I find this.
Its sad too because I actually enjoyed the game, sure a little tweek here and there was needed but I liked it nonetheless.
Question, does anyone have a copy of the rules at all? The main site was taken down and I can't remember them all from the top of my head and I never saved them. Sigh

I just sent a message to Matthew, if he doesn't answer me in seven days, I will contact my credit card company to get refund. This is getting ridiculous.

    21. Adam Doerfler on October 9, 2013

Should we start contacting our credit card companies to get our money back since it is clear that he is not going to deliver what he promised and has no intent to refund our money?

Everyone needs to report this to KS otherwise it won't get visibility. It's real nice how he says on his facebook that he is 'testing his new game'. Maybe he should finish this disaster before starting another....

Send messages to his family on Facebook, it worked for me. If you find Matthew's account (it's easy, he's the first that comes up under his name), he lists his brother (Tim) and his mom (Susan). I sent both of them one message a week asking them to tell Matthew to tell us what is happening with the game, and after the second week, he refunded me. I think being nice is the way to go or you could be considered a stalker, but if all of you do it, the more chances all of you get refunded (the project definitely seems dead).

      Kickstarter Guidelines:

      1. What should creators do if they're having problems completing their project?

If problems come up, creators are expected to post a project update (which is emailed to all backers) explaining the situation. Sharing the story, speed bumps and all, is crucial. Most backers support projects because they want to see something happen and they'd like to be a part of it. Creators who are honest and transparent will usually find backers to be understanding.

It's not uncommon for things to take longer than expected. Sometimes the execution of the project proves more difficult than the creator had anticipated. If a creator is making a good faith effort to complete their project and is transparent about it, backers should do their best to be patient and understanding while demanding continued accountability from the creator.

If the problems are severe enough that the creator can't fulfill their project, creators need to find a resolution. Steps could include offering refunds, detailing exactly how funds were used, and other actions to satisfy backers.

      2. Is a creator legally obligated to fulfill the promises of their project?

Yes. Kickstarter's Terms of Use require creators to fulfill all rewards of their project or refund any backer whose reward they do not or cannot fulfill. (This is what creators see before they launch.) We crafted these terms to create a legal requirement for creators to follow through on their projects, and to give backers a recourse if they don't. We hope that backers will consider using this provision only in cases where they feel that a creator has not made a good faith effort to complete the project and fulfill.

Without notice, he gave me a refund with a 5% "bonus". I am dissapointed I won't be receiving the game after all (that would be my guess since I was refunded), but I am glad he returned my money and didn't drive away into the sunset with it. Took a little bit of work, but it's all settled now.

His brother, Tim, and mother, Susan, are on Facebook. I have written to them twice already (once a week) to ask them for their help in making Matthew accountable. If his family are getting arrassed, he might be more willing to update us to spare them the flow of messages (mine were very nice and friendly, I guess you could take another route if you wish though).

I am very disappointed for things to go this way. Matthew looks like a nice person (from the few messages we exchanged) and I hate playing bad guy here, but this is really unacceptable. I am puzzled by the fact I haven't received anything since in the last update, he showed boxes of the game waiting to be shipped. I really hope he comes through and delivers the game (since the game seems to be well received), but for the moment, that's the only option I have left.

    42. Vance on June 27, 2013

For what it's worth... I was one of the lucky ones and got a copy of the base game. Nice production and presentation. I took the game with me to a small game convention in California named PolyCon. While I was only able to get two games in... everybody who played it had a great time and wanted to know where they could get a copy. The game really was intense with the psychopath making little progress... until he got his first kill late in the game. Then things go nuts, just like a real slasher horror movie.

As somebody commented a while ago, some things are not clear, but if you're willing to accept that there will have to be a few decisions made on the fly (when and how to supporting characters replace strangers, the party keg card is awkward), you'll have a lot of fun.

So why do I say all this? Not to gloat, of course. If anything, I hope Matthew sees this. Matthew, people loved this game. They wanted to buy it. I don't know what's happened, but please take this as the compliment and hopeful motivation it's meant to be. Let us know what's going on because I, for one, would love to help you bring this great game out to everybody.

      Forwarding original message:

I backed at the $60. Finally was able to put the game together... only to realize that my character stickers for the square tokens were WAY wrong making it unplayable in it's current state. I have 4 black stickers (assuming psycrow?), 5 for Doug the dweeb and 4 for Lendard the clown (not to mention it looks like the printer was nearly out of ink when it was printing from what appears to be a laser printer?)

My map for the Mercy Medical Center is labeled wrong on one edge. it has the wording for the ravenwood memorial graveyard.

Also any ETA on the 4 IUO ticket items?
