A troubled night falls on Ravenwood, an otherwise picturesque neighborhood surrounded by dark trees. Teenagers whisper as recent events have proven the rumors of “dark curses” and “revenge” to be true. Run for your life and don't look back because Evil Spares None.
Evil Spares None is a 2-4 player cooperative survival horror game that takes about 90 minutes to play. Live out a thrilling horror movie as your characters are stalked by an unstoppable masked psychopath. Evil Spares None is looking for supporters through Kickstarter so that we can get killer artwork, high quality materials, and a chance for contributors to join in the fun. See below for a description of the rewards!
UPDATE: Goal smashed, Stretch Goal beaten, expectations stabbed, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria! I am utterly blown away. Thank you all. Here's to making things nuts: 24 hour STRETCH GOAL:
24 Hour Countdown Stretch Goal: If the Evil Spares None Kickstarter reaches $12,500 (a nice 250% of original expectations), every donor at the Player level (the base copy of the game) gets the Chainsaw and Party Keg Kickstarter Promo cards that Risk Taker and above get, because it's time for this party to get a little crazy and we don't want you to miss out.
What if you were already getting the Party Keg and Chainsaw? Well your party is about to turn deadly (or deadlier). Everyone at Risk Taker and above still get the Party Keg and Chainsaw and in addition get the Psycrow's own handy pair of steel rib ticklers. Yes, turn those talons back on the Psychopath. This card was meant as a treat for my friends, but screw'em. (Note: I'm kidding, please don't screw my friends).
Update: Evil Spares None reached its goal! Awesome! So let's double the crazy, let's talk about a stretch goal:
If Evil Spares None reaches $12,000, every backer who pledged at least 35$ or more will get a plastic mini of the Psycrow - the demented teen mascot with a grudge against his classmates. Since plastic production would slow down development the mini will be delivered separately at a later date, guesstimatingly before Christmas, so as not to ruin your Halloween.
Also, anyone who pledged at the player level ($25 for a copy of the game) before the Kickstarter ends and wants one can order it separately, for 50% off (predicted to be $3.00, down from the $6.00 total given models of comparable size).
Also Also, if Evil Spares None doesn't reach its stretch goal of $12,000, and your heart is broken that you can't hold terror in the palm of your hand, the mini will then be available separately for a predicted $6.00 through the magic of on-demand prototype printing (It'd be a shame for a good model to go to waste).
The goal of the game is for players to survive until dawn while the Psychopath hunts down you and your friends. While on the run, your characters can come across crime scenes and gather evidence to hand over to the authorities and add to their investigation. Meanwhile, the Psychopath, independently controlled by a deck of cards, is busy adding to his score by killing and stealing evidence. If the player’s investigation reaches 16 points first, they have a chance to defeat and destroy the Psychopath permanently. If they fail, well then it’s a mad dash race for the exit, go ahead and throw your friends in the path of the enraged unstoppable madman.
The path that the players travel is a linear sequence of map tiles, each one representing a different location. While there will always be a path, there could be dead ends, locked doors, and out of the way areas great for playing “Seven Minutes in Heaven” or for hiding from a slobbering psychopath. The map will only be 2 tiles wide, if another map is added, the oldest one disappears, placing whoever is on it in mortal danger, so the pressure is on to run for your life.
So what if you don’t care about the Investigation? Life’s too short man, to be worried, live a little. Those players who aren’t goody-goody brown-nosers can linger around and use Risk cards. Risk cards are everything your parents told you not to do. They gain bonuses when player in areas off the main path, so find a nice corner and have some cheap beer, smokes, and a little hanky-panky to score points just for yourself. Let the others figure out who put a hatchet through your classmate’s skull, you just raided your old man’s top shelf stuff. Be aware, that the more you use Risk cards, the more the Psychopath takes a particular interest in you.
The Stalk-O-Meter is a queue line for who the Psychopath is stalking. Think of it as his “to-do” list, but instead of “do” it’s “kill brutally”. The Psychopath always makes a direct path towards his target, wherever they may be. Certain Action cards that the player’s draw can rearrange the Stalk-O-Meter. Like pointing out how Bernadette has nice new, flimsy high heels.
The Psychopath is controlled by a deck of cards. After each player’s turn, they draw a card that determines, what the psychopath does to his target (determined by the Stalk-O-Meter). The Psychopath Deck is dynamic and changes based on how many chopped up corpses are on his body pile (i.e. “Score”). At first, some cards have no action giving you just enough breathing space to think you have a handle on things and you might make it out alive. Then boom, he bursts in at the worst time and spins about the room like a chainsaw ballerina. Once the Psychopath gains enough points, he can activate powers such as smashing through walls, rising from the dead, and appearing right behind you.

Evil Spares None - The Audio Play
Want to set the mood for your game? At the Risk Taker Contribution level (see below or to the right) you can be the author of your own demise. Using the lines that you the contributors give us, and the unbridled talents of improvisors in the Philadelphia area, we will turn Evil Spares None a boardgame about a non-existing Horror movie into a boardgame about a real NIGHTMARE. We will turn your lines and character names into an audio play of which we will record for an audio track to accompany your board game night. Become part of the mythos, plot revenge in the sequels, cite obscure dorky references. A game about a horror movie needs plenty of schlock.
Think you got what it takes to survive?
Submit a photo of yourself, or a friend with their permission (no spiting others, this is a gentleman's horror movie, not a madhouse). We will send your picture to our artist and turn your likeness into a character for the game, complete with strength and intellect stats (though a very high tech process of estimation) and create a unique ability for your character. It's up to you to see if you can survive a night in the nightmare zone while playing with yourself?(there is no innuendo in the nightmare zone)
Sponsor - 5$ - Sponsors get a signed card of thanks! Your contribution helps make this game a reality, and the letter will include a game card from the prototype version, signed by the creators as a thanks for your support. See how the game began as crazy scibblings on cardstock.
Player - 25$ - Boom, have a copy of the game for $5 less than the projected final price! (See Development) Each level includes all rewards listed previously, so you'll also have a signed card of thanks, and a prototype card - see how it all changed from the beginning. If we reach our goals, delivery is expected in time for Halloween. What a scary, odd coincidence?
Risk Taker - 35$ - Think you can handle it? Prove you aren’t squeamish. Be a Risk Taker! This level includes all previous levels and a special exclusive bonus of the Chainsaw weapon and Party Keg card. The Chainsaw, unwieldy horror movie classic, is a devastating melee weapon, that needs a bit of revving to get ready and does quite a bit of collateral damage. The Party Keg provides extra risky bonuses to all characters present.
Contributors at this level can also contribute several lines of dialog or character names, and we will form Evil Spares None - the audio play, performed by improvisers in Philadelphia. This soundtrack will be provided on CD (or other more modern media forms if you prefer) to accompany your game nights. Spoiler alert, most sound effects will be stabbing and gurgling noises.
Horror Fan - 45$ - Now this is getting scary; Horror Fans get everything mentioned so far: Sponsor thanks, a copy of the game, Bonus Items, Evil Spares None - the Audio track, and in addition a Kickstarter exclusive Psychopath to test out your Chainsaw.
Night of the Necromonger includes an alternate Psychopath profile card with 7 additional ability cards. Technically he’s not a zombie, he’s “disensouled”, I tried to ask him what that meant but he just hurled Ghost Skulls at me. Learn more about the Necromonger.
Fright Master - 60$ - Hungry for more? Be a Fright Master, and venture out into the forests surrounding the Town of Ravenwood and meet Big Country Stu, an avid hunter and meat enthusiast. Fright Master includes all previously mentioned items and the upcoming “Campfire Feast” expansion when it is released for free! Campfire Feast adds 4 more Map tiles, more Victims, and another Psychopath Card with 7 additional ability cards. Campfire Feast release is expected around November, just in time for a good hearty meal. Learn more about good ol' Country Stu.
Patron of Darkness - $125, Limit 20 – Immersive to another degree, enter the game and be a Patron of Darkness! Think you have what it takes? At this level, we will make you a victim character in the game. This level also includes all previous listed rewards.
Contributors may provide a headshot of yourself or someone you hate know with their expressed permission our artists will create a character in the matching style and we will create a unique character ability. Double points when drinking beer? Immune to Hanky Panky? What qualitites do you think you have that'll let you survive a horror movie? Abilities will be balanced for gameplay purposes, I’m sorry no chainsaw hands unless you can prove they are for decoration only.
Insatiable - 500$, Limit 10 - Let me thank you just for reading this and even considering it. You are Insatiable. Insatiable Contributors will get everything previously mentioned, and all future expansions for FREE when they are released. This includes all future Psychopaths to be added for the game. You will be in the games rulebook as a founding member of Ravenwood. You will go down in history. This level includes all previously mentioned rewards, meaning your character will be in the game, with chainsaws fending off necromancers and cannibal hillbillies. We are planning on adding a demonic platypus once we can think up enough scary monotreme-based puns.
Shipping and International
Continental US - Free shipping, by the most unstoppable force known to man, the US Postal Service.
International - From Levels 1 through 5, it will cost an additional $15.00 to ship, due to the involvement of airplanes and long distance gypsy curses. Levels 6 and 7 (Patron of Darkness and Insatiable, respectively) will be FREE for the initial shipment.
The expected price for Evil Spares None is 30$ based on quotes from small printing companies. Should the project be successful (fingers crossed!) the game and future items will be for sale on the external website here. Remember, several of the reward items like Night of the Necromonger, custom characters, and audio track are only available through the Kickstarter. For any further questions, please send an email to:
