My blanket arrived!
Pros: Beautiful! Solid, quality construction. Feels soft. Cozy. Warm. Although grey is not usually my choice, the color is very pretty.
Cons: Time* it took to arrive. And, perhaps the size -- see add'l thoughts.
Add'l thoughts: The size and shape of the blanket is sufficient for use as a gravity blanket -- especially if one orders the heavier blanket. However, if I could choose to do this again, I'l order the same weight but double in size to distribute the weight over a larger surface area. Because I ordered such a heavy blanket, there is really no way for me to curl up or create a comfortable cuddled feeling because it is too heavy -- no fault of the company but a suggestion for the maker.
*Food for thought: Arriving 4 months AFTER expected delivery time was INCREDIBLY frustrating. I am unsure I will EVER use kickstarter again. I would have preferred to have been told a longer wait time and have it arrive early than for it too be so late.
Add'ly, your 'update' said you'd send a UPS list so one would know to expect the blanket. No list ever arrived. I used a PO Box -- there was no mention of not being able to deliver to a PO Box. I had no idea who the package was from -- there was a name of a person, not GRAVITY. UPS could not find my package, suggesting I contact the person listed as the sender. I had no idea who it was or what the package was. I insisted that they keep looking. They finally 'found' the blanket. GRAVITY was written on the side of the box, but the sender was some unknown person. Just weird and potentially a way for someone else to have received the blanket or return to sender to occur with no real way of tracking. You can do better.
That being said, I really love the blanket very much. The product itself is a job well done. Thank you!

Still no blanket, When is this supposed tracking number provided. Noticing the prior comments from others, this is coming across a little sketchy for how behind this company supposedly is with all these blankets. Re-email your customers when 2 months have gone by from the last email, if you know many customers are still waiting for your item. It's called good customer service.

Should I assume this project was a scam and just except my losses!? Still have not received my blanket or tracking number! Shame that you have left a lot of people with health issues waiting on a project that you haven’t been able to deliver! Very upsetting! Kickstarter and gravity blanket could at least own up to it and allow people to know if they should shop around to find a weighted blanket by another company! Very disappointed in both companies at this time!
How long will it take to receive the blanket once the tracking number is provided?
My name is Addy Barr and I am a backer from Kickstarter. I have literally heard nothing from you. I bought two blankets and have emailed you once with no response. I own a company so I won’t blast you in public like these other people without giving you one more chance. Please responded me. My Kickstarter Number is 12,842 and I paid $320 for 2 blankets.
I'm backer 9678 and I'm now assuming I'll never see a blanket or, when we do receive it, the blanket will be of miserable quality per ALL of the posts on the sleep number website. It seems at this point that Eric Huinker (posted on January 4) is right and i also agree that this situation is quickly approaching a legal status. This is really unfortunate that you've manipulated such a great website to achieve such poor results. What happened to the $4.7M you collected? I'm now contacting Kickstarter to formally investigate this situation.
I never received a tracking number but keep getting calls from DHL saying there’s a package to be delivered but they’re waiting on $77 duties and taxes fee ... I can only assume it’s my gravity blanket as I’m not waiting for any other delivery? I’ve sent a couple of emails but never get a response ... I’m a little surprised by the extra $77 (do not remember that being noted) on top of not being issued the $20 referral credit when a friend ordered through my BackerKot referral.
I'm backer 1,583. I received my blanket Jan 10, 2018. I thought I'd update since I've been fairly vocal about being sent notifications of tracking numbers issued and that my item was being shipped since October but had no movement.
My review of the blanket is that it is nice. I love the weight on it. What I don't like is the last minute change to modify the measurements. Like everyone else, I was expecting a larger blanket as seen in the advertising. What I received is a blanket that will just cover the top of a twin-sized bed. I'm 5'6". When I lay the blanket on top of me from shoulder to foot, it just barely covers my feet. If I raise the blanket any higher my feet are exposed.
Knowing what I know now, I would not order this blanket again.
Since I didn't get what I was expecting and I had to experience the unprofessional service, I'm going to rate this blanket 3 out of 5 stars.
I've sent emails and messages via kickstarter over the last 3 months with absolutely no reply. Haven't received a tracking number either. If you'll be providing us contact emails, could you send contact emails that work? It would be nice to know if the hundreds I've spent are just for you to keep and that's why no tracking number was sent...
I have emailed 3 separate times with no communication back. I received my tracking number over a week ago and it continues to say “order processed, ready for UPS”. At what point will it actually ship? I’m beginning to feel like this is a delay tactic, and now I’m hearing that this product has been shipped to stores for sale, before original backers received their blankets. I’m extremely disappointed in your customer service.
So 23,805 Backers on Kickstarter funded this construction of this item from the ground up to the tune of $4,729,263 back in April~May 2017 and have yet to receive them, but your company managed to complete construction and shipment of that same project that we funded for sale by Sleep Number on their website for $279???

Hey, I've contacted this number 3 different times with no updates. I understand that delays happen. I wish that the size change had been communicated better and possibly had some backer input but that's not the point of this post. I've backed enough kickstarters to not be too disappointed in not receiving my order before christmas. I'll just get the gift to my girlfriend late, these things happen. I'm far more upset at the lack of transparency. I'm leaving a comment here in the hopes that someone reads this and tries to answer my emails. They've been patient but three emails to your support team over many weeks is truly upsetting. I would just like to know where my order is in the process and to make sure there were no other issues.
I am most eager to receive my blanket, but I have not received any tracking number or an estimated time of when it will arrive. Please help me out here. Also, Happy Holidays and a happy new year!

I've just read through most of the comments. Absolutely incredible. I decided that I no longer want this shortened version. I want my money back!!!
I understand if there are delays but the lack of communication is very concerning. Like many others, why would those that purchased later receive it already and those who have been backed since April/May not even get notified of the status of their order.
I'm pretty disappointed in the management of this entire process. I really don't understand or agree with the decision to send out all the individual orders first instead of in order of when each individual became a backer. So since I ordered 2 blankets I have to now wait for all the backers who ordered 1 blanket get theirs even though they may have ordered them a month or two after I did. Not a fan of how this entire process and campaign has been handled.
After making a lot of noise, I got a tracking number from someone named Mike. However, on the UPS website, there's no info about shipment, just that a shipping label that has been created. Mike said it is coming from Asia. Hmmm...
Not going to get on the report to PD/CC/bank/FTC bandwagon because I’ve taken part in Kickstarter campaigns that were delayed and suffered from poor communication and backing is not without risks, but I do find one thing interesting. A friend ordered a couple weeks ago through the site and appears to have received a blanket already. Looks legit.
Anyone know anyone else like this? In my experience, shipping full price orders doesn’t reflect well on their cash flow. Still think we’ll all likely receive our orders, but the poor communication and fulfillment of orders placed weeks ago before those placed months ago is a bit upsetting.
Unhappy holidays morelike. I have just paid out another $150 for a temporary 'place holder' smaller blanket for my ptsd boyfriend who is having a really hard time, so that I can give him *something* sooner rather than later.
I emailed five days ago with no response. I have yet to receive a tracking number. I'm pretty upset since this probably means we will not be receiving our two blankets in time for Christmas. We will be leaving the state too, so I'm worried we won't be here when it arrives. It would be nice to at least have some idea so we can try to plan around it.

Why would you say that we’d get the tracking number in the next few days and not send a tracking number in going on 13 days? Can’t believe some of us don’t even have it shipped yet with Christmas on Monday. Huge disappointment.
I ordered a blanket in May. Haven't heard from UPS. Emailed John and customer service twice and have not received a reply. I'm beginning to think this project could be a scam.
Haven’t received a tracking number, and it looks like I’m the only one. Received an email at the beginning of the month that I would receive this in time for Christmas (glances at watch) and now I’m getting nervous and annoyed. Feeling duped and ripped off. Please send my blanket or send back my money. I’ve got plenty of other things I could spend it on where I’d actually receive a product or service!
At this point, I just hope I get them at all. Looking more and more like we all got scammed.

Hi -- I have not received any UPS number, and have not received any updates since December 7th. I, also, ordered this as a Christmas present. 'very disappointed. This is my first time supporting Kickstarter. I am really concerned that this is just some big scam, too.
I also have not received a tracking number or any information since the last update. I am assuming this gift will not arrive in time for Christmas which leave me wishing I had not been a backer.
I was given someone else’s tracking number. The good news it that they got their blanket. I, on the other hand, have not received mine. This is getting ridiculous. It’s making me reconsider backing future projects. They have had my money for months now, but I still have not received my blanket.
Been 13 days and still no tracking # they are jerking us around, I was promised I would have this by christmas that was their word not mine. I am really upset. I wish I have never backed this project at all.

You guys are not keeping your word. This was the most expensive gift I ordered for Christmas as i expected you to hold to the promise above which is still stated on your FAQ page... and yet nothing. I want my refund, At this price, i can purchase my wife a new cellphone.
I am so very disappointed in this whole process. I do read other people's input about how this is pretty typical with the Kickstarter process, but this is my first and probably last due to the really sorry communication. I backed this in May feeling very confident that I would receive my blanket before the cold weather kicked in and especially before the stress of the holiday season was here. It is now 5 days before Christmas and I have received nothing! No tracking number, and of course no blanket! Very poor business model! I am still seeing ads on my Facebook page saying it's not too late to order! As your backers, we deserve more information than this.
Don't want to just on the bandwagon of assuming that this is a scam or anything - but it has now been 15 days since this update and I still have yet to receive any further word from Kickstarter, John, or UPS. Clearly, I'm not alone.
John - Please provide another update as soon as possible. This was the earliest I've ever shopped for a Christmas gift and by far the last one I didn't expect to arrive on time.

I haven't received a tracking number yet either. This is ridiculous. Between all the delays, the outright lies by the creator, and the reduced blanket dimensions, I'd rather have my money back. Will have to call my bank and see what I can do.

The Internet is the fastest growing source of mail order sales. It's estimated that consumers spent $200 billion on Internet-based goods and services in 2008. The explosive growth in the goods and services sold online has in the past, taken many online sellers by surprise: demand has outpaced supply, depleting inventories and disappointing customers. The Federal Trade Commission is advising online merchants to review their obligations under the Mail or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule to better serve their customers.
The Rule spells out the ground rules for making promises about shipments, notifying consumers about unexpected delays, and refunding consumers' money. Enforced by the FTC, the Mail or Telephone Order Rule applies to orders placed by phone, fax or the Internet. Your compliance can have bottom line benefits for your company - that is, satisfied customers are repeat customers.
Complying With The Rule
By law, you must have a reasonable basis for stating that a product can be shipped within a certain time. If your advertising doesn't clearly and prominently state the shipment period, you must have a reasonable basis for believing that you can ship within 30 days.
If you can't ship within the promised time (or within 30 days if you made no promise), you must notify the customer of the delay, provide a revised shipment date and explain his right to cancel and get a full and prompt refund.
For definite delays of up to 30 days, you may treat the customer's silence as agreeing to the delay. But for longer or indefinite delays - and second and subsequent delays - you must get the customer's written, electronic or verbal consent to the delay. If the customer doesn't give you his okay, you must promptly refund all the money the customer paid you without being asked by the customer.
Finally, you have the right to cancel orders that you can't fill in a timely manner, but you must promptly notify the customer of your decision and make a prompt refund.
Running Late? Overwhelmed with Orders?
The Rule gives you several ways to deal with an unexpected demand.
You can change your shipment promises up to the point the consumer places the order, if you reasonably believe that you can ship by the new date. The updated information overrides previous promises and reduces your need to send delay notices. Be sure to tell your customer the new shipment date before you take the order.
You must provide a delay option notice if you can't ship within the originally promised time. The Rule lets you use a variety of ways to provide the notice, including e-mail, fax or phone. It's a good idea to keep a record of what your notice states, when you provide it, and the customer's response.

I have contact Kickstarter directly with a complaint. I would suggest everyone do the same.
Backed this through kickstarted in May. Backer 26207. I get responses from my emails, but they are all vague blanket statements. There is no listing for this company on the Better Business Bureau. Has anyone went to their physical location? Gravity Products, LLC, 181 N 11th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211. I live in Virginia and cannot go by the location. I am going to try and report this as a scam to my local PD and file a complaint with my credit card. Clearly something illegal is going on here. They can boast about nearly 5 million in sales, but very few people have received blankets. AND, I truly wonder if those that say they received a blanket are even actual customers, but employees of this scam making it appear as if items are shipping. First and last time using Kickstarter.
I received my blanket late last week. I am thoroughly satisfied with the finished product. If you guys haven't gotten your blankets yet just be patient, the wait is well worth it!!
