Hi guys! Happy Friday. It’s been an absolutely crazy week, and my team and I continue to be overwhelmed by the love and support from the community. There are a few questions we’ve been getting asked frequently in the comments and messages, and so, I wanted to elaborate a bit. 

Larger Sizes:

We recently sent out a community survey regarding what you want to see from us next and alternate sizes were the top request. While we 100% hear you on the desire for king and queen options, there’s a lot to consider here: 

• By increasing the size, the weight is further distributed across the blanket, which means you will no longer get the full benefit of having 10% of your body weight laid directly on top of you.
• To maintain the 10%, we would need to dramatically increase the weight for king and queen sizes (as high as 40 to 50 pounds), which would increase our manufacturing costs dramatically, as well as the cost you pay. 
• This becomes even more expensive when you factor in this weight for shipping purposes, especially internationally. 

Our goal has always been to give you the best price possible, and get our blanket into as many hands as we can, and so, we’re trying to balance the demand with the price point we can deliver to you. This is a long-winded way of saying that we’re still working on it; more info to come. 

Production Update: 

Because of you, and the amount of orders you’ve placed, we’re lucky enough to work with some of the biggest manufacturing partners out there. These folks have shipped hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of units for some of the biggest brands in the world. Some of their annual contracts have been upwards of five billion USD; we have no doubt that they will deliver for us, and we will deliver for you. 

And so, we’re happy to share a more detailed update of where we stand from a production standpoint, outlining when you should expect to receive your product. Check out the below: 

Health Claims: 

We’ve gotten a few questions about the language we’ve used to describe the product and its potential benefits. As we’ve said from the beginning, there's been super promising research on weighted blankets, and more importantly, people seem to really get a lot of benefits from other products like this. 

That said, we wanted to clarify that our blanket is not an FDA approved medical device, and as such, we've tweaked the language on our Kickstarter accordingly. We hope you understand, and we’re very excited for you to try this out for yourselves.

We have a few updates that will hopefully address some of the more frequently asked questions we've been getting: 

• Community Survey: In the next day or so, we'll be sending out a survey to all of our backers to identify what you'd like to see from us in terms of stretch goals. More colors? More sizes? It's up to you. Keep an eye out for that. 

• More $169 Early Risers: This is a question we wanted to address head-on, as we've seen many messages and comments about it. Because of the overwhelming response, we've been able to go back to our manufacturing partner and negotiate a better price per unit. This means that we're now able to pass more savings along to our community, and help get our product into the hands of more people.
