@impact: 54 mm Elder and Mage.

    2. Impact! Miniatures on

@Michael ... what size Elder did you get?

    3. Jason Richards Publishing 2-time creator on

@Michael, some light sanding might do the trick. Since she's already primed, I could see giving a layer of something a bit thicker and then sanding that back down to get the gaps filled/smoothed. My advice is anything but expert, however, so take with a huge grain of salt.

Hi Jason, question for you. After doing my normal BGW priming I noticed that there are quite a few printer lines on the Elder. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them? Pictures are on my Instagram: mdutcher25

@Paint'Riot and @Michael: YES! So glad to see everything is getting through. This is the best part of any campaign. :)

Mine came Saturday! Thanks they look awesome. I have never dealt with printed models before so I am digging the no mold lines but figuring out what a print connection is a little difficult with the clear resin. I think I will prime them before I continue.

Thanks again Jason! It was a pleasure backing and I look forward to your future endeavors.

Excellent news, @salcor. Spreading the word and sharing pics on social media is always appreciated, and if you get them painted up, we'd love to see how they come out.

      Any chance for an update?

      Michael Dutcher on

Jason, thank you but you don’t need to rush anything for me. The time crunch is purely my own doing. The minis will come when they do and they will work their way on to the painting table. Like I said, I have so many projects. It’s amazing how fast the backlog builds.

    16. Jason Richards Publishing 2-time creator on

Hey Michael... I owe y'all an update, actually! May is definitely still on the table. Barring a malfunction or postage disaster of some sort, I will have almost all of the rest of the miniatures in my hands by the end of April. From there, fulfillment of the rest of the orders (a dozen or so have already been fulfilled, just based on the minis ordered and their production order) will happen post haste.

Most of the larger scale minis, like the 54mm Hollow Mage, will be the last to arrive. However, since I know of your particular time crunch, I can see what I can do about making sure you get your minis in plenty of time.

If anyone else has such a NEED FOR SPEED, speak up and I will do my best to accommodate.

Hi Jason, just a logistical question because I am trying to get my painting desk in order. My goal is to have 4 to 6 entries ready for the NOVA Open at the end of August so I am trying to prioritize what to work on. Is May still on the table? It’s okay if it’s not. I have about 19 potential projects and a very specific idea how to do the 54mm mage and it would probably be the most simplex piece I have ever done so I will need a lot of time to screw it up : ) if June is more likely, again, I am good with that, I will probably hold off and do it when I have less stress.

      Sorry for babbling. Thanks

    19. Jason Richards Publishing 2-time creator on

Not a bug at all! 54mm are printed in the white semitranslucent resin. Pics are up of all of them at the BackerKit site.

If you want more pics, let me know. They look awesome.

Jason: My memory is fading on me so I can’t remember if you said the 54 mm figs would be printed in resin or plastic. Sorry to bug you.

Paint'Riot, I missed you but I have now taken care of it. You should see your bonus in the survey now! Sorry about that.

Great job Jason! Congratulations on the successful campaign.

    24. Jason Richards Publishing 2-time creator on

I'll probably post a full Update later tonight, but the Kickstarter surveys have been sent. Once I get the BackerKit portal up and running, you'll get a second survey and be able to purchase any additional minis or other goodies that you might want. That will probably take a couple of weeks, as I get all of the financial and production tasks knocked out.

In the meantime, please respond to your KS surveys and let me know if you have plans to add on anything else. It will help us to successfully plan the next phase.

      WOOOOO!!!! Excited!

    25. Jason Richards Publishing 2-time creator on

WOOO!!! Look at all that funding! Great job, everyone, and thank you!

@Matthew, I'd love to offer bases for the large figures, and I looked into it. Tricky thing about that is that because the large minis are 3D printed, I can't offer bases at something that I think is a reasonable price. Bases use a deceptive amount of material and it really adds up. Bases were like $15 for 54mm and $38 for 75mm, and that's just cost. I could possibly have those bases redesigned to use less material, but then that's modeling cost that has to be recovered. Add in that some people prefer square bases to round, or have size preferences. Ultimately, you just have way better options out there than I can give. If you REALLY want one of the Breachworld bases in the large size, I'm going to put them up on Shapeways once we're fulfilled. They'll still be expensive, but you'll have more options for materials that may offset the cost. The only reason I'm even able to offer the 32mm bases is that we'll order enough of them (I hope) to justify having them cast instead of printed.

@Dicemad, the RPG and Player's Guide both have the races EXCEPT for the Minotaur and Hollow Mage (and the next race to be released, the Eel), which are in additional folios. If you want a copy of Breachworld and/or the Player's Guide in PDF form, you'll be able to add those on during Pledge Management for super discounted prices. However, if you're really just interested in the races, you can download Player Race Folios #1 - #3.

      #1 is the Minotaur
      #2 is the Hollow Mage
#3 is Player Races+, which has expanded info on ALL of the 13 player races from the core RPG

All three are available as "pay what you want" on DriveThru. The whole catalog is at the link below:

    26. Dicemad

Actually, we'll be working these into our D&D or Pathfinder game. But it occurred to me, I didn't get the Player's Handbook because I wasn't interested in the game. But now I'm not so sure. You say you'll be doing another Kickstarter with more figures, such as the Minotaur. If I were to get the Player's Guide, would that show me more races to vote for in the future? After all, I have this $2 courtesy of the Elder funding I could add to .... :-)

      Matthew in Danbury

Are there bases for the larger figures? Might be an add on option for pledge management.

My group can't support a rpg at this point. These miniatures may find their way into Drowned Earth - looks like a good fit.

    28. Jason Richards Publishing 2-time creator on

      Sssssshhhh don't jinx it!

And don't worry, we'll get to the Minotaur next time. And there WILL be a next time! We'll talk more about that once funding is in and pledge management is done.

    29. Missing avatar

      wheee, we have the 2500!

No minotaur in sight, though :-(

    30. Jason Richards Publishing 2-time creator on

We're very close to the $2500 Stretch Goal! When we hit that, the Elder will be fully unlocked. That means it will only be $10 (Mod Kit still $3) and available as part of any of the PICK ONE, TWO, or THREE pledges. I believe we can do it! This late in the game it will be tough to adjust the campaign page to match everything, but even if not, we'll handle that change during Pledge Management. Anyone who pledged the extra $2 for the Elder will be able to use that as credit toward other Add-Ons... like maybe some bases, or a copy of the RPG, or even an additional model or Mod Kit.

Yes, Michael, the prices for the 54mm and 75mm models include their respective Mod Kits. Quite a bargain, if you ask me. :)

    31. Missing avatar

      Michael Dutcher on

Question: if you go down to the extra large mini section it says that the large and extra large models include their respective mod kits. Am I reading that correctly? Thanks

    32. Jason Richards Publishing 2-time creator on

      Yes! Dicemad!

One of these days I'll run a KS that I have guessed how everything will go ahead of time so it's all smooth and simple during the campaign. Glad you found us and that the Elder and Hollow Mage are available as well!

I hope we get to unlock the Minotaur, but don't worry... even if we don't this time around, the votes will be counted for the next campaign that is obviously coming as soon as we can get this one fulfilled.

We're nearly to the last 48 hours, so it's crunch time! Share share share!

    33. Dicemad

I'm glad I caught this one in time. I showed it to my husband too and he liked as well. So we're getting the Core Set. But I want to try the Dru with modifications while still having the original, so I ordered the extra Dru for $10. Then reading through the updates, I realized I must have missed something. Turned I actually missed a lot. Read the whole page this time, saw my two favorites, the Elder and the Mage could be added as add ons, so I did, but without mod kits. Now I'm rooting for the minotaur because that one's my husband's favorite. And it would only be fair that if I got two favorites he should get at least one, right?

    34. Jason Richards Publishing 2-time creator on

For those keeping track of the Stretch Goals vote, the Minotaur is back in front!

I am in it for the Elder and Hollow Mage 54 mm figures. I didn’t add in her mods though because I think she is perfect the way she is.

I see bright blues when I look at the Elder. Maybe some eye popping indigo with maybe some hints of bright white. I can’t wait to paint them both.

I am looking forward to seeing the hollow mage upgrade kit. I might just have to pick that up.

      I don’t think I managed to get a day 1 goodie.

    36. Peter Porcaro Jr on

Not completely sure Jason, but the Hollow Mage head with the hood, makes it look like my long-time Rifts character!

    37. Jason Richards Publishing 2-time creator on

WHAAAAAAAT?! Peter with the GREAT decision on a Thursday night! Thanks, man! Can't wait to get that one in front of me. Which of the EIGHTEEN combos are you going with?

    38. Peter Porcaro Jr on

Increased my pledge to include a 54mm Hollow Mage!

Hey everybody, Brett knows what's up! Thanks, Brett!

Upped my pledge for 2 elders and 3 hollow mages with their mod kits galore!!! Awesome job Jason! Cant wait to get my hands on these.

    41. Jason Richards Publishing 2-time creator on

For those following the race, the polling is now TIED between the Minotaur (female adventuring mechanic) and Reptilian Raider (female war shaman) for the third Stretch Goal!

Thanks, Michael. Very proud of the work that went into her.

    46. Jason Richards Publishing 2-time creator on

Not a full update, but just some quick comments as we prepare for a new week!

      1. For those tracking the unlocking of Stretch Goal #3, it's Minotaur over Demonkin by a single vote. A few votes back is currently a tie between Climber and the pricey, large addition of a Demonkin War Party (the above Demonkin plus two others).

      2. Thanks largely to Michael Dutcher's comments about the Elder and Hollow Mage being big draws for him at the 54mm and 75mm size, I'm taking a new view on the offerings of those Add-Ons. I feel like we'll be able to offer those, so stay tuned.

      3. Further along the lines of #2, I've also rethought the offering of Elder and Hollow Mage at 32mm. What would really help is knowing how many people would add those on at the 32mm size if they ran more like $12 than $10. This is all about economies of scale and figuring out if we can break even on them. More on this in the next couple of days, but getting a temperature on the idea would be useful.

Leave comments or messages at any time. Gonna be a great week!

@Jason: thank you for the response. Let me do some budgeting and see what I can afford to up my pledge by. I should known tomorrow what I can add without getting divorce papers from the wife lol.

    48. Jason Richards Publishing 2-time creator on

@Michael I did post on NMA but by all means, continue to talk it up! We'll do a fresh round of updates/announcements this week, likely Tuesday.

The large versions of the Elder and Hollow Mage are stretches as well, but you raise an interesting point. Because they will be 3D printed in all likelihood and not cast, there really is no reason not to offer them as Add-Ons NOW.

Only trick is I haven't had them priced to lock that down. I feel sure they would be the same as the Grim and Dru, though. If you want to help that cause you can go ahead and pledge $30 or $60 each for the 54mm and 75mm versions until I can get it finalized.
