Our goal is to create the largest network of photographers and videographers for hire, and make them accessible to the world. The talent pool FotoOp is establishing allows our network to do more of what they enjoying doing, as a result users get stunning projects that they visually connect with. These photographers and videographers are who we call creatives.
The platform is set out to solve two objectives:
1. Help creatives find and connect with users looking to hire talent for a project, event or a photography/videography session.
2. Help users and businesses find photographers and videographers for events, projects and individual sessions.
Creating a visually appealing platform is going to be a driving pillar to the success of FotoOp. We want users to feel connected to their storyline through the lens of our creatives.
The goal of this platform is to reduce the amount of time required in vetting, contacting and screening, during a typical photographer search. Current methods involve endless Google searches, word of mouth, or personal referrals. These methods are inefficient and limit exposure for both users and creatives looking to find each other. We've set out to make this platform a tool to forever resolve the frustrations of finding talent, and getting hired.
Creative on boarding:
The first interaction with the platform for creatives will be in creating a profile that has our creatives bios, comprising of their about page introducing themselves and the value they offer as a creative, preferred projects and availability.
We've created a prototype that addresses the basics of finding a creative to shoot your event, however we still have work to do in bringing the concept to life. We want to develop the platform further with both the user and the photographer in mind. As a whole, photographers and videographers do not currently have a platform that allows them to be creative at scale. Which is why we're opening our doors to backers for insights on what features and uses you all want out of the platform, in order to keep and add the most sought after features. As a result, we assure the value to users across the board remains a priority.
After making sure the features are present we want to assure that the platform makes for an effortless experience for both the user and creatives. We'll have a portfolio upload option for creatives to upload their work and showcase exactly what they can create, within the scope of their event types.
Portfolio after uploads:
The ideal creative holds these qualities:
1. Photographers artistic individuality
2. The passion and enthusiasm for photography and their clients success
3. High quality image captures
4. An optimistic and positive mindset
User on boarding:
The user on boarding process will be similar to the photographers flow in that they create a mini profile with their name, email and basic info needed for booking. The rest will put a heavy emphasis on the creative profiles on the platform. Users will be able to search creatives by rating, availability, and location in order to generate the most relevant portfolios. The creative profiles can also be viewed by selecting a photo in a general gallery viewer that will take the user to that photographer's profile and portfolio.
Users add the details of their event in preparation to send out requests for proposals.
Than fine tune your project 1 on 1
Integrated messaging to provides users a space to discuss details of their project.
Business and enterprise on boarding:
We will use some of your investment to build out a landing for businesses and enterprise that provides them with a place to view, and manage incoming and outgoing proposals in a clean, and uncluttered environment.
Monetizing the platform will come as a small investment to creatives in order to achieve and maintain the value that the platform provides. The following tiers are the investment points to creatives:
Simply Creative: Exposure to users on the platform
Simply Creatives will be exposed to users booking for projects and events on the platform.
Pro Creative: Exposure to users and businesses on the platform
Pro Creatives will get all of the benefits of our Simply Creatives, as well as businesses looking to book talent for product shoots, projects and or events.
In all, the platform that I'm bringing to life creates more than just a space to create new and exciting projects. Its an ecosystem for people looking for creativity beyond the norm. FotoOp's existence, encompasses everything our interactions tell us is true. The talents who want and are willing to create, can, only given the opportunities to do so.
Thank you Kickstarters!
Since we are nearing the end of prototyping and basic user testing and are heading towards production we thought the best way forward is to bring the platform to its user base, thats where you all come in. Kickstarter has brought to life many creative ideas and I'm looking forward to building another one with you all.
Thank you for viewing my Kickstarter, I hope it will bring as much value to you as it did to me in creating its landscape!!
Please share our link with friends, family, and any creative minds you may know! :)
*All photographs used in our prototype are mock ups and do not reflect the actual deliverables of the platform. We're working with photographers to refine the images in representing true deliverables.
Risks and challenges
The risks we may encounter is that we need both creatives and users present on the platform in order for it to work. We're looking to get users on both sides of the platform in order to work towards reaching our goals of creating a network that is sustainable and ready for growth. As well as bring value to the photography industry and establishing ourselves as a proper brand. We're looking to combat these opportunities by getting as much exposure as possible, primarily within the photography industry. The exposure will come from expos such as the PhotoPlus Expo as well as conferences for tech startups in order to meet key influencers to refine our approach for our target markets. Our target markets are our end users, photographers and businesses.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
