Cayrels Ring is a science fiction comic influenced by Seventies Euro comics and artists such as Moebius among others. Each issue features short stories telling tales of inhabitants of the ringed galaxy known as Cayrels Ring.
The is my second attempt at raising funds for this project. I've now lowered the goal and added the Lonely Planet style mini-comic as a bonus for everyone.
You can find information on the first two issues below.

Cayrels Ring continues to grow with this, the third issue in the series. I have amassed another tremendous team of collaborators and this issue will be the last in this format, which is a collection of short stories.
The seeds planted in this final 48 page issue will lay the ground work for what's next, a full blown, epic story arc set in this galaxy you have helped create.
NOTE: Please contact me if you wish to combine rewards or ship to a country not listed in the reward selection. We'll make it happen.
As with the first two issues of Cayrels Ring, this issue will be made up of 6 short, 8 page stories. Each story will be illustrated by a different artist collaborator.
Story 1. A young colony on a distant planet, on the edge of the explored space. It’s the first colony established since KLARA was retired almost 40 years ago but It’s not an officially sanctioned colony. As the colony grows and becomes more comfortable, they send out a team to explore their new home world. What they find is more than unexpected. This story is illustrated by John Le and 5 pages of preview art can be seen below.
Story 2. The story of Nella, the young mother from Issue 1. This is what happened to her between being rescued from Edoran and her being found living on the outskirts of P’Baali with her baby.
Story 3. Sori Val is a Tromi Veri woman seeking revenge for the death of her husband and child who died due to faulty life support equipment in their settlement. Sori spends the next two years in mourning before experiencing a revengeful awakening. She tracks down the manufacturer of the equipment and then goes after the CEO of the company whom she now holds responsible for their death. Her "death trip" takes to her Kui-Xing to confront none other than Garrett, the man Jamitch would kill for his own personal revenge in issue 1.
Story 4. A woman who works on a merchant vessel falls in love with a colonial settler. Their love is forbidden and must be kept secret. As we learned from issue 2, deserting your colony will result in death and maybe a run in with Varlo Das. They hatch and enact a plan to smuggle the man off world with the goal of making a home for themselves on the outpost world of Edoran. Will the couple succeed or simply become another paycheque for Varlo Das?
Story 5. Archaeologists travel to the barrens of Kui-Xing. They are looking for the remnants of the original generation ships that brought humans from earth. It's been centuries since they arrived on Kui-Xing and records of the ships landing landing locations are non-existent. What they find will rewrite human history in Cayrels Ring.
Story 6. Manda Pery lost her baby during childbirth under mysterious circumstances. Pery and her husband were not allowed to see their deceased child, he was simply gone. More than a decade later she meets another woman with an eerily similar story. This leads her on the hunt for other women who experienced the same loss. What comes next will set up Cayrels Ring's next big story arch.
Here is a peek at Story 1 from the upcoming third issue of Cayrels Ring. Art, including colours are by John Le.
I wrote and created CAYRELS RING which was brought to life thanks to an amazing team of collaborators. I also wrote and illustrated another self published series called Horror of the Khor. The forth and final issue of HotK was successfully funded on Kickstarter earlier this year.. I also wrote a backup story which appeared in Prophet Earth Wars #2, published by Image Comics.
Dustin Weaver began his career in comics as an intern at WildStorm Studios in 2003, where he was held to an unreasonable standard by his idol. Since then, he's illustrated the NY Times bestselling novel The Tenth Circle, had a fruitful relationship with Dark Horse Comics where he made significant contributions to the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series, and worked for several years exclusively at Marvel where, most notably, he co-created the acclaimed series S.H.I.E.L.D: Architects of Forever with writer Jonathan Hickman.
In recent years, Dustin has moved into the writing side of comics. He helped define IDW's approach to Rocksteady and Bebop in their Ninja Turtles.
Check out his fantastic series Paklis, published by Image Comics.
John Le has only been at the illustrating game for something like 6 years but his work is awesome. A perfect fit in the Cayrels Ring galaxy. He has previously had work published in Ken Garing's Planetoid Praxis mini series, published by Image. It's John's pages for which I'm lucky to share on this Kickstarter.
François Vigneault a cartoonist, illustrator, and graphic designer (not necessarily in that order) living in Montréal, Québec. His graphic novel TITAN was published in 2017 by Éditions Pow Pow and has garnered multiple award nominations including "Best Cartoonist" from the Joe Schuster Awards. He is currently drawing 13e Avenue, a YA series written by Geneviève Pettersen and published by Éditions de la Pastèque.
Simon's has been making comics since 2009 - books like Prophet, Jan's Atomic Heart, The Field, Tiger Lung, and Habitat (as well as smaller stuff here and there - Star Trek, 2000AD, etc). Simon contributed to the first issue of Cayrels Ring and I'm super happy to work with him again.
Simon's also running a killer Patreon. Give it a visit!
Alchemichael has been making a name for himself through his fantastic art posted online as well as his work on HEART OF WEIRDNESS. You've seen his work featured in Image comics ISLAND Magazine and the previous two issues of Cayrels Ring. In fact, he did all the art in issue 2.
Pablo Clark is a storyboard and comic book artist based in Scotland. His work has been featured Netflix shows, video games, award winning cinema ads and animated shorts. His comic book work has been published by BOOM! and Dark Horse.
All reward levels will come will include a Lonely Planet style guidebook to Cayrels Ring. It will be 8 pages and measure around 5" x 7" (subject to change). This fun little book will feature articles and pictures of the different worlds and alien species that inhabit the ring galaxy.

Risks and challenges
This will be my sixth Kickstarter and all but oneof them being successfully. All of the successful ones were delivered and were of high quality.
That being said, delays can happen, especially when it comes to printing. I will be communicating with all backers very frequently and will be transparent with the process.
