Nice to meet you
We are Marc Perry, Ameya Mhatre and Joshua Cano, and we have been making music as Into Weather for 3 years. We recorded our EP a few years ago and have been working on new material ever since. We are asking for your help to record our first full-length album, slated to be released early next year.
We are super excited to record this album. We need to devote the proper time to capture our ideas in an atmosphere that has the space and resources to fully realize this record.
Where you come in...
We have booked an affordably priced studio in Portland, Oregon (Jackpot Studios). They have the console, analog gear and tape machines that will enable us to create our sound. We are recording to analog tape reels and bringing our equipment with us. For the 2 weeks we are there we will be able to fully immerse ourselves in the creation of this album.
Our estimated budget, which includes the cost of tracking, mixing, mastering, analog tape, studio time, travel costs, engineering fees and vinyl pressing, totals $15,800. We need your help to offset some of the initial startup costs.
Look in our hearts
We want this record to be as meaningful to you as it is to us. The highs and lows, pianos and strings, synthesizers and drum machines, guitars and harmonies, all will create something for your headphones to remember. Your support means the world to us. It means helping us accomplish this goal. It means contributing to new local music, keeping an independent art form alive. It means the satisfaction of knowing that the money you contribute today will make this album come alive.
We love you all!
To our friends, family and fans - thank you so much - without your support we would not be able to realize our passion. We love you and are excited to give back!
A huge thanks to Carrie Perry for producing our video and helping us believe in ourselves, Jon Greber for editing and general baller attitude, Elizabeth Hundt for keeping us on track and ready to deliver, Evan Banks for his help in shooting this video and Kalyanee Mam for lending inspiration and the use of her film equipment.
Risks and challenges
Recording is not an easy process. Making something good takes work, communication, and time. We're really trying to create something special with this record and have fun with it, but there's always the potential for setbacks.
Leonard Cohen says, “the best things take years, years.” While this process does take time, we've already invested the years of leg work and promise to produce an exceptional record by March 2014.
We know you're rooting for our success and your contribution proves that more than ever! We are going to take the lessons we’ve learned - give yourself time, be patient, be present and trust each other - to deliver our best work yet.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
