I know! The wait is killing us as well!!
Thank you all for your patience while waiting for your copies of B is for Bicycles.
Unfortunately the printing process is taking way longer than we were expecting. We are still happy with the company we are using but realizing that we should have been armed with a few more expectations before going to contract with them. At this point we are looking for a mid- July delivery.
The book looks amazing and you will all be super happy with the final product! We are so very sorry for those of you that are losing out on potential gift giving opportunities. Hopefully you can use this gift for the holidays. We are so thankful for your patience and continued support.
We would however like to pass on a bit of exciting news from the Fitzgerald Family:
And NO...we are not taking the Kickstarter proceeds and hoping on a sailboat somewhere....though sounds pretty good:)
Jannine and I are so happy to have found the PERFECT next stewards of Fitzgerald's Bicycles. It is with great excitement that we announce that Derrick and Liz Nobman have officially become the new owners of our beloved bike shop!
Derrick and Liz, along with their two young children (5 and 1) are so excited to move from their home in Long Island, NY to Teton Valley. "We have always dreamed of raising our family in a small Western mountain community and Teton Valley is the perfect fit. We can't wait to be a part of the whole Teton community."
While owning and operating their family's 5th generation family hardware store, Derrick and Liz developed a passion for cycling that lead them to starting their own bike shop called Cycle Haven. As Long Island, New York's premier adventure bike shop, Cycle Haven quickly became know as the go to Salsa dealer and fat bike specialist. They developed their shop in similar ways to Fitzgerald's, becoming more than just a place to buy stuff, but a true community hub. However, the pull of the West was too great and once news of Fitzgerald's being up for sale was announced, the Nobman's were the first to reach out, "your video has got my heart thumping and my palms sweating!" said Derrick in an early communication to us.
Derrick and Liz are still wrapping up details of their move to Victor, ID and will be relocated permanently by early July. In the meantime, Jannine and I will continue to run the shop day to day. In fact, look for us to be in the shop working side by side with the Nobman's for the rest of the Summer! We are their biggest cheerleaders and will work hard to see them succeed as the new owners. Derrick and Liz have become our friends and we feel confident in their success running the shop.
We can't thank our customers enough for the years of support as we grew our shop from humble roots inside the Snake River Brewing annex, to the shop's legendary Teton Valley location. It has been a wild ride punctuated by all the deep and wonderful relationships with our staff and customers over the years. We are not moving from Teton Valley and we will remain fixtures in our favorite local bike shop. Here's to the future of Fitzgerald's for all of us!
Cheers- The Fitzy's.
