Dearest backers,

Campaign's final days are here and we have bad news to report. To put things plainly : the campaign is cancelled today, nobody will be charged and MixStik will not enter production.

Even though we've doubled the initial goal, we've come to realize we won't be able to bring MixStik to life as it is right now. One of the two co-founder has urgent personal obligations to work on a more financially rewarding job. That leaves only one fulltime member on the project (others worked with us part time) and we don't think it's reasonable to continue that way. As backers ourselves we've experienced how frustrating it can be to receive a poorly made product, with delay or even worse not getting anything at all. It's fortunately not the case for most campaigns, but it does happens. 

We don't want that for MixStik's backers.

We value your support too much for taking the responsibility of making MixStik lightly. Sorry to tell you this news so late into the campaign but we needed to think this through, evaluate all options, talk with our partner and advisors before taking this tough decision. After so much work on the prototype, campaign preparation and promotion, it is extremely painful for us to cancel the campaign. But we think this is the responsible thing to do here.

Hope you guys will understand. Can't thank you enough for the love and support we received.

Très chers backers, 
Les derniers jours de campagne sont là et nous avons une mauvaise nouvelle à vous annoncer. Pour dire les choses simplement: la campagne est annulée ce jour, personne ne sera prélevé et MixStik n'entrera pas en production.

Bien que nous ayons doublé l'objectif initial de financement, nous réalisons que nous ne pourrons pas poursuivre l'aventure MixStik dans de bonnes conditions. Un des 2 co-fondateurs a dû partir en urgence sur une activité plus rémunératrice. Ceci ne laisse qu'un porteur de projet à plein temps sur le projet (les autres ne travaillant que ponctuellement dessus). Nous ne pensons pas qu'il soit raisonble de continuer ainsi. En tant que backers,  nous savons à quel point il peut être frustant de recevoir un produit décevant, avec beaucoup de retard, ou pire ne rien recevoir du tout. Heureusement ce n'est pas le cas pour la majorité des projets, cependant cela arrive. 

Nous ne souhaitons pas ça pour nos backers.

Désolé de vous prévenir si tard dans la campagne. Nous devions analyser toutes les options possibles, discuter entre associés, entourage, mentors avant de prendre cette lourde décision. Après tant de travail et d'investissement sur ce projet il nous est très douloureux d'y mettre fin ainsi. Nous pensons cependant que c'est la seule chose responsable à faire aujourd'hui.

Nous espérons que vous comprendrez, merci encore pour votre soutien tout au long de ce projet.

Here's a quick recap of what have we been up to since last update.

A few numbers first:

We are truly amazed by the number of backers who decided to join MixStik’s adventure!

During the past few days we were busy making noise for the campaign. We’ve demoed MixStik to the public at GeeksLive in Paris (over 4000 visitors). A few days later we were at CES unveiled Paris to show MixStik to the press. There we even caught sight of french Minister for Economic Affairs. Couldn't get close enough to make him try MixStik but we at least took a little souvenir!

To put it shortly: we gave lots of interviews, helped a lot of people mixing drinks and received very positive feedbacks.
We were proud of showing them how many of you were MixStik's supporters.

Dear backers, you have been wonderful! 10 days since we launched the campaign and we're already approaching the 70k$ mark.

Here's a quick overview of the stretch goals we have in plan for you:

• 100 000$ -> extra app features : in my fridge, shopping cart, photo sharing and upvote recipes.
• 200 000$ -> transport pouch to keep your MixStik clean and ready to use, wherever you take it.
• 350 000$ -> The Ring (more details soon !)

Our next big target is to reach the 100k$. The more backers and preorders we have, the best manufacturer we'll get and devices will ship. If you haven't done so already please share the campaign with your friends and family. They also deserve perfect cocktails!

What a start!  
Thanks to you MixStik backers, we’ve reached our goal in only 44 hours! At this moment we're already at 110%.
We couldn't be happier with this incredible campaign start. We are extremely grateful to all of you for your trust and support. And that's just the beginning, we still have 34 days to go to make perfect drinks available to even more backers!
