We launched Interregnum on Kickstarter in 2015- Crown of Exile is a further refined version of that game. We spent some time simplifying the rules in ways that we felt added to the strategy and tightening up the art and theme. It's a much stronger game now and will be less expensive to produce that the original concept for Crown of Exile.
Some of the specific changes:
•We added in 'house' cards to give players more direction from the getgo, and more strategic options
•We removed the fifth "family" space on the game board and instead made family cards wild- playable in any space. This way you can specialize but need to choose something to give up in order to do so.
•Quests are now claimed by playing a card- adding to the emphasis on drafting at the core of the game.
•We made better art- we realized we could push the look of the game further. So we did. We're really pleased with the results.
