Hello! I'm Meiting ✨
I'm a singer-songwriter based in Singapore, and I like to write quirky songs that speak of faraway stars and adventurous animals. My influences come from Taiwanese singer-songwriters Cheer Chen and Crowd Lu - I gather inspiration from the small details in life, and I love injecting humour into my original work.
I started my original music career in 2016 when I released my first single "Blue Moon", and since then, it's been a roller coaster ride of performing and promoting myself as a singer-songwriter, notably at one of Singapore's most well-known performance venues, the Esplanade.
June 2018, with the help of the National Arts Council, I launched my debut EP "Don't Worry! I'm Not A Bad Person" at the Esplanade Recital Studio, and I'm also really thrilled that one of the tracks "The Man Who Lives on Sirius" scored a top spot on Taiwanese indie listening platform.

Hi! I'm Mary 🌹
I believe that music has the power to transport us to a different time and place, and I especially enjoy harnessing that power with fellow musicians and music lovers.
Since I was seven, I've been taking part in singing competitions, and my breakthrough moment came when I was awarded “Best Female Singer” and “Most Popular Female Singer” of Ocean Butterflies’ “非常歌手 4”.
I began my songwriting career in 2014, winning third prize in a nationwide songwriting competition with my first original composition “Miss You Crazy". This song was also released as 1/2 of a double-singles concept in 2017 across all digital music platforms. Since then, I've been actively promoting my music in Singapore, most recently at the in::music showcase at the Esplanade Annexe Studio.

Please help fund our trip!
Being independent musicians in this day and age means we're pretty much making a loss by doing this trip, but we really hope to share our music with the world! We believe that we should invest in and take responsibility for our own music career, which is why we're asking you to fund not 100%, but 50% of our trip expenses.
Here is a list of what you'll be helping out with:
- Flight expenses
Including air fare, baggage allowance for instruments, travel insurance
Our hosts for some of the stops have very kindly offered us lodging for some of the nights, but we'll be there slightly earlier to prep for our performance, and we'll need to cover the other nights we're there.
- Musician fees
We'll be bringing along a keyboardist and a guitarist, and this will cover their rehearsal and performance fees.
- Sound system
Some of the venues require us to bring along a sound system, which we will rent in Taipei and bring around.
- Transportation (Taipei - Taichung - Tainan)
Our tour venues, coupled with our bulky equipment (sound system and instruments) require us to rent a vehicle and hire a driver to move around different parts of the island.
Other than our physical CDs and USBs, we will be designing new merchandise for sale on the tour, which will also be available to our backers!
- Marketing efforts
For a successful tour, we hope to boost our online presence in Taiwan before we arrive.
A summary of the different tiers and rewards can be found in the column on the right (: Any amount is greatly appreciated, and would help a lot ❤️
Taiwan has always been a greenhouse for budding independent musicians, and has been an active player in the Mandarin pop scene. Having a significantly more focused target audience as compared to multicultural Singapore, we hope to reach out to and engage more foreign listeners. Thank you for reading all the way, and we hope to complete this project successfully with your help!
Risks and challenges
All merchandise is due to be ready before the Taiwan tour and will be sent out by the end of October. In the event of delay, all items should be ready by November 2018 (:Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
