Welcome to GRISLY’s Kickstarter campaign page. GRISLY is an independent short film directed by Graham Cribbin and written by Roger Lewis.
GRISLY depicts the story of Carolyn Bronnicke, a young woman who has mysteriously transformed into a mutated Gill Girl and is captured by ACS/M-Division, a secret government black-ops facility led by Director Christopher Smalls.
Assigned to review her case is Agent Milo Finn of the Central Intelligence Agency. As Agent Finn conducts his review of the case he discovers a secret shop of horrors at ACS where Director Smalls has approved the torture and experimentation of Carolyn/Gill Girl led by his henchmen Prof. Matthew Lamb and Sgt. Alex Stevens….

…. As Agent Finn investigates ACS/M-Division he must ultimately decide whether or not to help the captured Carolyn/Gill Girl, a decision that will change his life forever.
GRISLY was inspired by The Creature From the Black Lagoon and the sci-fi / horror movies of the 1950s. It can be described as X-Files meets True Blood. GRISLY captures a portion of a much larger universe of supernatural characters that will be expanded on in the GRISLY TALES web-series expected for release later this year.

GRISLY / Kickstarter campaign:
Our preview cut of GRISLY was recently accepted into the IFS Film Festival in Los Angeles. The campaign funds that we are trying to raise at this time will help offset costs associated with the production crew, post-production editing, make-up and special effects, studio rental, costumes, props, marketing materials, and film festival fees; and will help us to ultimately produce a final distribution cut of the short film.

In exchange for your campaign pledges we are giving away incentive gifts that include the short film's DVD along with GRISLY movie posters, hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and The Art of Grisly sketch book. The complete list of incentives is listed in the right column of this webpage. Any additional funds raised, exceeding the goal, will go toward the production costs of the follow up GRISLY TALES graphic novel and/or web series (to be determined during stretch goals).

Thank you for your help!!

Risks and challenges
The reality of filmmaking is everything costs money: make-up, wardrobe, cameras, props, studio time, sound & editing equipment, special effects, the crew, food, film festival fees, etc. The BlueShirtsBrown/GrayJay production team has put together a top-notch collective of actors and filmmakers to make “GRISLY” a high-quality reality.
This Grisly short film is a work in progress. Our goal is to have final edits completed by July/August of 2014. This is dependent on campaign funds needed to complete the color correction, special effects, and musical score. Every attempt will be made to distribute rewards as soon as they become available. After film festivals, we plan to explore a distribution deal for Grisly with one of the many new Internet start-ups that focus on original content. Your patience and support throughout this process, over the course of the next 3-6 months, is crucial and greatly appreciated!
We THANK YOU for your support in making this short film and web series possible!
