About this project
Why this book?
Because it makes perfect sense! How many people don't understand Starbucks? How many people are obsessed with it? Either way Inside the Cup: Translating Starbucks Into a Drinkable Language is a winner. So many customers enter Starbucks only to be perplexed and intimidated by the menu. This book takes all of that away. It'll give the reader confidence and an extra spring in their step the next time they walk into a Starbucks.
What's in the book?
That's a great question. I'm glad you asked. Everything that you ever wanted to know about Starbucks. You get the following:
- A translation of all of that crazy Starbucks talk.
- Hundreds of drink modifications and recommendations.
- A chapter about customer stereotypes. Where do you fit in?
- Everything that you ever wanted to know about coffee, tea, caffeine, and espresso.
- Almost 90 pages of drink by drink modifications and recommendations, all in color. Enjoy your drink in a whole new way.
- Kid's drink recommendations.
- A glossary and index.
- A bonus chapter on how to get hired at Starbucks.
Where's the money going?
Another great question. The money is primarily going to print the book. The nearly ninety color pages certainly raises the cost of the book but I think the added value is worth it. Any money raised over the goal will go into marketing. I have a full fledged marketing campaign planned so anything over will certainly be put to good use.
Are you qualified to write this book?
You better believe it. From a writing standpoint this is my first book. However, I not only wrote for my student newspaper in college but I also worked on campus as a writing tutor. I'm no Stephen King but I can write.
From a knowledge standpoint I worked as a store manager for Starbucks for over four years. I've managed in about ten stores, managed hundreds of employees, know the drinks inside and out, and I've spoken with thousands of customers about their drink preferences. Why did I leave? I left because I needed time to work on various projects, such as this one. Dont worry, I'm not some crazy disgruntled employee. My experience was very positive.
Yes. The quality of the book is top notch and it's completely finished. I just need to print it. I spent about five months writing it (it's about 230 pages). It's been professionally edited and designed. Let's fire up the presses!
