Production Update

Posted by Joe Cohen (Creator)

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Its been a while since we have been in touch, so we thought we would send a brief update about how filming has been progressing with The Boy From Mushin since we reached our crowdfunding target!

We have been continuing to film with Bisi including a very special creative reading of "Africa's Future Has No Space for Stupid Black Men" originally published in Granta Magazine about LGBT life in Nigeria.

We have also been filming with Jide Macaulay, who set up House of Rainbow, an LGBT church originally set up in Nigeria, which Bisi also helped to set up, but has since been exiled and now operating in London. So many LGBT people of faith are excluded from practising their religion by being forced out of their communities. House of Rainbow provides a much needed place where people can express their faith free from persecution surrounding their sexual or gender identity.

We are about to film a very exciting scene in November, but to tell you about it would give the story away, so you'll have to wait for the release of the film! We are aiming to finish production by January 2017, and post production by March / April 2017, and of course we will keep you updated along the way.

We are still looking for further funding, sponsorship and investment for completion funds, including legal fees, post production costs and salaries, so please do get in touch with any connections if you have them.

With best wishes and much gratitude,

Joe and the Team.
