August update

Dear backers and others interested in Lil’Bot,

It has been a very exciting time. Hardware manufacturing is on schedule. The July rewards have been shipped. The August rewards have already been shipped or will be very shortly.

Steady progress is happening on the balancing front. The robot stands up durably and can perform rotations guided by the gyroscope. The last major balancing task will be to make it go in a straight line. It is harder that you’d think! The proximity sensor is working well. Next the software will need to be cleaned up and refactored for easy inclusion into your various projects. Finally, all will need to be ported to Lil’Blocks for educational uses.

I invite you to visit the Lil’Bot website now that more has been made available for download, including full documentation for the emoShield with sample code:

Enjoy the rest of the summer,

Chris

Here is a video showing the robot rotating. The angle is arbitrary and could even be multiple turns.
