Within Striking Distance - New Backer Rewards - Pixel Art!

Posted by Matthew Ritter (Creator)

Greetings my fellow earth dwellers! On to the news.

Within Striking Distance!

Things are very exciting, as in the last few days we've gone from modestly approaching the 5K goal to looking like we might achieve it in the next day or so. This is amazing! Everyone's support has been great and I thank all of you. If all of you can guilt just one other person into donating tomorrow, we'd easily achieve the 5K goal and the game would be guaranteed a release.

As we're nearing that, I wanted to ask all of you to consider any features or stretch goals you think would enhance the project. If you think of something don't hesitate to message me, post it in the comments, or e-mail me through the 14 hours productions website. While we don't guarantee their use, we will consider each one, so let us know what you think would be fun and what you're hoping for.

New Backer Rewards!

In other news there are some new backer rewards. We've added a 200 dollar point and a 250 dollar point. The 200 dollar point is for getting an object you design, like a bench, or a fountain, dedicated to whoever you want (with a little plaque or similar inscription) in the game. The 250 point is the only physical reward we'll be offering. We're going to make 25 physical box copies of the game with an included physical instruction booklet and OST. This will be limited to the first 25 contributors who donate 250 dollars or more. It's a lot of money but that kind of generosity will be rewarded with one of the only copies in existence! So, they're special. OooOOOooo.

Pixel Art!

Yesterday our lead artist did a livestream of some pixel art. He did a basic walk animation, some ghosts, and a bench. He doesn't want me to show off the bench as he thinks it came out ugly.

I don't know if you can see the walk cycle. It lacks some motion in the head and body but is a great work-in-progress! Look at that! Assets are being made and who doesn't love a ghost dog? He plans to do more live streams as we get closer to the end of the kickstarter, so anyone who wants to see him do one keep an eye out on these updates.

Another News Article

A new article by Colin Mclsaac over at Gamnesia featured us! Thanks Colin! Great of you to write about Boon Hill. He mentions that we only need 1,500 dollars more and while that quickly became out of date, that is only because of support like his. The article can be found here: http://www.gamnesia.com/news/welcome-to-boon-hill

That's all for today, thanks for your support! Talk to you soon.

All good ideas Siddharth, I'd love to have things like a war memorial. I want the graveyard to have a real sense of history. Being able to put together in your head a timeline of what happened to this town throughout the years, and things like that I think would really help. As for a pets, we've been thinking about it. Don't put your ideas down, they're good. Even if they don't make it in, thanks for them and your support.

I've been posting around where I can, hopefully it's helped in some small way!

As for ideas for stretch goals... I enjoy (maybe that's a poor choice of words, but you probably understand what I mean) pet graves, I find the idea of a master so attached to their pet that they bury them (or get buried, most likely) alongside them very touching, so maybe those could be included were they not already present?
I assume that couples and family graves are already present, but I'll mention them anyway : graves that are connected to each other appearing together when you look at them? Or something?
And, again I don't know whether it's already present, or if it's feasible, but a war memorial? They're so omnipresent here in Europe, so I feel like it would be appropriate. I don't how often they crop up in the US, but I assume it's similar.

Oh yes, and the obligatory idea from a Linux user : Linux port! But again, that may not be realistic, I dunno ^^

Anyway, these're just random ideas floating through my brain, pay them no mind if they're not that great ^^ I'm just happy to be able to support a project like this.

Good luck on the rest of the Kickstarter! Hope you shoot up to 10k too ^^

Only if we can keep up awareness and make sure everyone hears about this great project. Still, here's hoping. 10k would be wonderful. Cross platform, paying people what they're worth. Living the dream!

20 days to go and only 700$ or so to collect.. you might very well be trending towards 10k :)
