Happy New Year! We’re ringing in 2017 with a welcome opportunity for the next few months to put more time into “The Boswell Sisters: Close Harmony.” This has always been a labor of love with the only profit we’ll ever receive from the project being our passion for crafting it to the exquisite standards of the Sisters’ artistry and the expectations of their devoted fans. So, because of that, we occasionally have to set the documentary aside for the lesser but necessary work that keeps our business in operation. But we've recently finished some big jobs that now free up our schedule. We’re getting very close to having the basic structure finished. That means having all of the audio portion completed. That provides the backbone of the documentary for laying in more of the visuals. We like to know first that if the audio is compelling on its own, then we have a solid story. On top of that, we have about 30-minutes of the 2-hour program entirely completed. One of the things that’s made the process so time-consuming is the high production value we’ve committed to it. For example, we decided long ago to clean up the original, but often distressed photos, removing scratches, dust and debris that detracts from the subject matter. This is a very painstaking task. We will have more than 1500 stills in the finished show. Here’s one example of a photo before and after.

Thank you all for your patience. We wish it could go faster, but it’s getting more exciting as we near the end of this love story.

Might i strongly suggest that you don't make the documentary 2 hours long? I'm only coming at this from an average viewers point of view so that this documentary will be appealing to not just hardcore Boswell Sister fans. I watch a lot of documentaries and even on subjects that are of special interest to me, i find that anything over 90 mins overstays it's welcome, and in suggesting to others to watch it i find the length scares them away, in the same way a 3hr motion picture sometimes scares away moviegoers. Anyway, that is my only suggestion and i wish you the very best of luck on the project. Very exciting.
