PSYBLOCKS is a fresh puzzle platforming game. Take control of 2 members of the elite SPF-core, Hektor and Faye. Both have combat training and psychic powers making them the right people to get the job done.
We are aiming for an October 2013 release date on PC/Android Tablets.
(Being considered is iOS, PS4, WiiU and OUYA - more details below)
Full platforming and physics integration while retaining as much control to the player. Being a puzzle platformer is no excuse for weak platforming control!
Interact with your environment using your characters psychic powers. Control objects in the air, fling them around and interact with all sorts of puzzle items.
Fun puzzling to help navigate yourself through the levels. Using water, lava, electricity, magnets, gravity, lasers, freeze/heat beams, bombs and many more things to keep the puzzles fresh while also challenging.
In the main singleplayer you will get to play with Hektor or Faye. Both are pretty similar in their abilities but a few interesting exceptions to change up the gameplay. Using the Psy-Stones to find, you can unlock new characters, with different capabilities to reply levels and find new secrets.
At the moment the team is two people, an artist and a programmer. That money pays for us to keep going to make you this awesome game.
After paying for Art and Programming, we will need to hire a composer to make some decent music and SFX.
We'll need to hire a few voice actors and animators for the cutscenes which help flesh out the story for all of you.
Lastly comes in the software licences.
We have a, sadly non-edible, pie chart to help illustrate this.
£15,000 (about $22,000) is what we have budgeted to finish the game to a highly polished standard for you all.
This is all 70 intended re-playable levels, 5+ playable characters, full sound and music and animated cutscene with full VA.
If there is enough interest and it is easy enough to do so, we will port the game to the OUYA console and iOS.
£16,000 - Mobile version of the game for android phones/lower end tablets. (The extra funds pay for the work on redoing the required artwork, programming and testing.)
£18,000 - Co-op campaign, it's own storyline and puzzles for 2 player co-op.
£22,000 - We can port the game over to Wii U. (Why this console? We feel the touchscreen controls offer the most control and fun during Psy-mode, and we can input a few ideas for puzzles we've had that could only be done on Wii U.
25,000+ - We've read that PS4 is going to be very Indie friendly, and with our release date intended for October, and the PS4 rumored to be a Christmas release, there might be something we can work out. Will keep you all updated. Obviously the more support we get for this idea, for more chance the right people will listen.
