Check out our great review on Apartment Therapy!
We are three partners committed to bringing this simple and useful product to life:
KERMIT WESTERGAARD (Co-Inventor & Business Development) and
AZADEH HOUSHYAR WESTERGAARD (Creative Direction & Branding): The couple with the longest name in the world are founders of Made By Two LLC, a multidisciplinary design studio that designs restaurants, cafes, and private residences.
ANTHONY COLEMAN (Product Development & Design): A business manager with a background in business and product development.
Two old high school friends, Kermit Westergaard (an architectural & industrial designer) and Anna Winger (a photographer & novelist), got together to solve a problem. Anna wanted a discreet way to display her photography projects in her small home office. They decided on a thin white steel strip that could be mounted flush to her walls, creating a large display area where she could hang photos magnetically when needed, yet disappear into the room when not being used.
The concept evolved into a steel strip backed with a removable adhesive that was so thin it could be rolled up into a dispenser and snapped to any length. Packaged with powerful magnets, it would make for an elegant and simple solution to an age-old problem—something they imagined would be extremely useful to many people in many situations. Realizing they had a product in the idea, Kermit and Anna went on to patent Dartstrip as co-inventors.
We are so close to bringing Dartstrip to life—we just need to make one final push to complete the final phase of manufacturing. As a project backer, your pledge funds will go towards our first production run and will allow us to meet the minimum order quantities set by our manufacturer.
Please help us spread the word by sharing our project via email, Facebook, and Twitter. Just click the FACEBOOK & TWITTER BUTTONS below the Kickstarter video to share the campaign link on your social media networks. We appreciate your help spreading the word!

Special thanks to Anna Winger for co-inventing Dartstrip — it simply wouldn’t exist without her (nor would the product name without the presence of her husband, Joerg, at a brainstorming session in a particularly pretty spot on the coast of Maine).
We are grateful to our friends and family who patiently tested, counseled and opined on the various incarnations of Dartstrip as the prototype was refined. We had a spectacular time shooting our Kickstarter video and are thankful for our colorful cast of friends, family and photogenic volunteers who were recruited straight from the streets of Williamsburg, Brooklyn: Kristen Aronsson, Laureano Batista, Irina Belkovskaya, Christian Carroll, Sal Crifasi, Kiyoumars Hooshiar, Alex Howe, Sarah & Aminah Ibrahim, Essie Jain, Michael Lennicx, Sabrina Little, Donatella Madrigal, Thomas Simpfendoerfer, Elena and Matilde Swartz, Daisy Walker & Teru Uchiyama from Metrosonic Studios both for facilitating the studio rental and for graciously stepping in as a grip in a moment of need.
Allison Coleman & Annabel Coleman for their insightful & thoughtful feedback throughout product development; the Hooshiar Family (Kiyoumars, Farideh, Joubin & Azita) for their generous culinary & child wrangling support; cousin extraordinaire, Katie Frank, for her social media tutelage and overall wonderfulness; Christian Carroll, our talented and photogenic camera man; the generous and resourceful Shaylin Clay for behind the scenes research; and Azul Ceballos for saving the day.
And last, but certainly not least, thank you Preston… for being Preston. We are compiling your many life wisdoms into a book which may become the subject of our second Kickstarter campaign.
Risks and challenges
We are confident that we’ve addressed and worked through the risks that can arise during the manufacturing process. We have already overcome our two biggest challenges: developing an adhesive that removes cleanly without residue, but has the requisite tack to hold up anything one might want to display (you can’t imagine how much time has gone into adhesive testing); and building a machine from scratch to manufacture the strip (it is a more complex machine than you might imagine).
We have a fully functioning prototype. All product components have been sourced. The tin packaging has been designed and printed. The magnets have been shipped. We're making the final tweaks to our manufacturing machine before production.
Our realistic goal is to have finished product ready to ship prior to December 16th. This will be Dartstrip’s first production run and there may be unanticipated delays, so we are conservatively estimating a shipping window of mid-December to mid-January. We will do our best to ship to our 1st Batch backers in time for the holidays, and will keep you posted during the campaign.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
