We learned that gangsters from Cleveland, Chicago, and New York claimed Newport as their own and turned it into America's first major gambling town. After operating illegally for an unprecedented amount of time George Ratterman, a star from Southbend's Notre Dame, aligned with the Kennedy's and Louisville Courier-Journal reporter Hank Messick to bring an end to the nation's first Sin City.
Now we are ready to tell the world that before Vegas, there was Newport!
Below is our plan to share this story with the world:
1. FILM FESTIVALS (entry fund to help give Newport Kentucky and its history the exposure it deserves across the world.)
- Hot Docs
- Las Vegas Film Festival
- Ann Arbor Film Festival
- Big Sky Doc Fest
- American Independent Film Fest
2. LOCAL THEATRE RELEASE
3. DISTRIBUTION & MARKETING
In order to succeed we can't simply submit our film, we have to promote it.
- We will build local street teams in film festival cities to pass out flyers and put up posters.
- We will attend industry panels and network to ensure the right people attend our screenings.
- (35 days)
