About this project

I am a visual artist with a deep interest in Parkour, I have been photographing Parkour for over a year and I have recently started The Freedom to Run project in October, 2011. It began as I started taking Parkour classes. Being able to see the intensity and skill of the sport from both sides has been great for the evolution of my photography. Throughout the process, I have realized how much this sport and the people who engage in it, have affected my life and my work. As I fully immerse myself in this world, I plan to travel the east coast to attend and document Parkour events I am organizing. I am going to 10 cities in 10 days and each event will be 5 hours long. The Kickstarter funds will go towards travel expenses and the subsequent photographic exhibition and catalogue I am planning after I return.

The 10 locations will be: Philly, NYC, Boston, New Haven, Georgia, Washington DC, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Miami, and a second location in Florida. All these places are areas with large Parkour communities.
