Red Stripe Playing Cards
These playing cards boast a vibrant color palette and take inspiration from stained glass, cardistry, cubism and architecture.
Hello all. Through the past year I have been creating a new playing card deck. Red Stripe Playing Cards
This colorful deck is inspired by stained glass, cardistry, modern art, and architecture.
The design was inspired by my desire to have a solid stripe in the middle of the deck for boldness. The geometric lines came after I designed all the face cards.
I wanted to design a deck that not only looked good when held idly in the hands, but also looked good in movement during flourishes and magic. It also looks interesting when you turn the deck face up.
This deck is fully customized from the geometric back design to the custom arrangement of the spot cards, right down to the custom court cards and jokers. Even the inside of the tuck box is customized.
The spot cards feature custom pips that boast a unique orientation.
The court cards are my abstract interpretations of each "classic" bicycle court card. The body of the court cards feature an original abstract line composition while the faces of each card were executed using a continuous line and cubism style to complete the design.
The jokers also feature a similar cubism style, and continuous line work.
The tuck box on the outside features only a sinlge red stripe for a modern simplistic look, while the inside is inviting with color and design.
Each tshirt will be printed on american apparel unisex crew neck shirts, each shirt will be hand signed and numbered with fabric paint for durability when washed.
The cards will be printed through the United States Playing Card Company with a Linen finish for premium card handling.
Risks and challenges
I've been working on this project for about a year, so I treat it as if it is my child. I'm only one person so keep in mind if this does get funded shipping 2,500 may take some time. I will be doing my very best to fulfill all the orders personally my self if the campaign is successful so please be patient once the Kickstarter is closed.
If this project doesn't get funded, sadly these cards will not get the chance to be printed and all the money you pledged will be forwarded back to you.
