The ground-plate has been designed to support the whole range of carrier systems. It consists of a 5mm layer which provides a solid footing for all sorts of screws. Sensitive parts can be fixed from the inside area. We used an perforated aluminum plate as well as detachable rubber bolts to install different types of gimbals which all worked very well. Because the device’s payload capacities allow for a wider spectrum of applications beside camera purposes, we intentionally didn’t want to limit the possibilities through a permanently fixed fastening mechanism. Please note that with a payload of up to 5kg, common professional camera systems are supported.
The sound level after 20 meters distance and 10 meters altitude is similar to a commensurate multicopter. That’s probably louder than a DJI but even quieter as you propose. Anyway we are working hard to reduce the volume further.
Each rotor is driven by two motors – an electric and a gasoline engine. In case a malfunction safe landing is guaranteed in contrast to conventional quadcopters with e-engines only. There a malfunction will end up in a guaranteed crash. Our model has virtually built-in octocopter safety inside the quadcopter.
yeair! will be delivered with an in-house transmitter (8 Channels, 2,4 Gigaherz with frequency hopping an 2 km range), but it can be changed against a current transmitter at all time. Our customers have free choice which transmitter to use.
Dirt is a problem with conventional aviation models, but that’s not true for yeair! This is because the airstream bypasses the camera completely and is also very strong. We’ve done some very detailed testing on this subject and therefore can state that practically no rests of oil remain on camera and gimbal.
