      Thanks Shaun. I hate the wait, it's been so long (or at least feels like it), but least there is some light showing at the end of the tunnel. I'm not quite sure what I'd do if I had access to adventure alpha. System Shock is the best game series ever made in my opinion, and temptation to roam Citadel station again would be IMMENSE. But at the same time, I want to have the whole cake with all it's flavors in once I start playing, in a manner of speaking. Heh, such a dilemma that'd be :D

      Suppose I can/will start another run of SS Enhanced, now that the port source update is in and everything.

      @Matti Peltoniemi, that's basically it, yes. From what's been said, the whole station will be there as well as many items and audio logs (originals - not rerecorded yet). Some puzzles should be there as well, but not things like enemies. Also, please note that the alpha won't be widely available; probably just a few people to start (I'm not sure the exact criteria has been announced yet) and it'll also most likely be under an NDA. Once the beta rolls around, most backers with a game copy will have access, but that won't be right away.

      I might be ignorant, but what is the Adventure Alpha? Does that mean the game is playable from start to finish but without most (or any) of the puzzles or enemies put in yet?

      The only thing I was not a fan of with the original unity demo was the the unfiltered textures, other then that things are looking good.

      It seems the option for a toggle mode on outset is the popular opinion, at least from what I've read so far. Let me pile on one more note of support for that position.

      I also vote for Retro from beginning. Both textures look so nice I am considering playing it twice :D

      PS: Please make the clumsy/shiny plastiline look, HDR and volumetric lighting/nebula effects optional - they are horrible to my eyes! Please!

      @Zangdaar, try resetting the controls (Options -> Customize Controls -> Reset [Enhanced]). I've seen a few people where for whatever reason the left mouse button gets unbound.

      In SSEE I can no longer interact with items, it's like my mouse buttons are not working.
      However, I can still use the right button to attack with a weapon, but impossible to open a door, look at a corpse, etc etc ....

      Retro mode should be available from the outset. Don't punish players for wanting to play the game a certain way, in this case with a more authentic look.

      As for the cross, you could argue it's not red 100% of the time because of the way the whole bar changes color and the plus is merely a reflection of that, and so isn't actually intended to be interpreted that way. Unlike old-school medkits which have a red plus that never changes. But who knows what an actual lawyer would suggest, I'm sure Night Dive will bring it up with someone if they haven't already.

      Yeah, toggle switch would be the simplest and most instantly-gratifying choice, though I wouldn't say no to it being unlockable, provided the prerequisite wasn't too difficult. For instance, beating the game once under any circumstances would be fine, but beating the game with restrictions, like under 2 hours and destroying every camera and only using the wrench and never taking damage- that starts getting to be way too big a challenge, and not anything the majority of players would ever manage. It's gotta be on the easy side.

      If the RETRO mode is considered a mode as such, making it unlock after the beating the campaign once, and giving access to a secret password (that could be used between NightDive releases) would be the easiest way to placate both ideas.

      Mind you, a toggle switch would be the most elegant, simple solution to also show off your new assets.

      How about Retro mode is unlockable as standard (e.g. complete campaign once) BUT you add an old school cheat code, maybe Konami code, to unlock it early.

      Therefore those that want it as a reward can and those that want instant gratification can.

      You may not want to use the red cross symbol for health, as the actual Red Cross has made a fuss about that in the past.

      Well, yes. Nice - but that's a very little show you posted here. Would like to see a little bit more. Animated characters, music, sound - more than doors actually....

      @Arkam, the official answer posted in the main comments section is "Soon to GOG, just no date yet." Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to convert a GOG copy to a Steam one at this time.

      I have a question about the Source Port: I have the Enhanced Edition on GOG. Is the Source Port currently available on GOG? I don't see anything there. Also, if I have ED on GOG, is there any way I can get the Source Port on Steam (since I'm also a backer? <3)

      I sooo appreciate you returning to the roots of remastering this amazing game. System Shock I has always been one of my favorite games of all time and I was increasingly worried about the newfangled version the previous team was developing. THANK YOU for restoring my faith in this project.
      Retro mode would be awesome, though I don't imaging playing with it much. I'd prefer not to have to unlock it and just have it toggle-able in the Graphics menu.
      Also, Awesome work on the System Shock: Enhanced Edition. It's wonderfully restored.

      Looking fantastic! Personally, I think it'd be more fun to make Retro Mode an unlockable after beating the campaign or easter egg you can trigger of some kind, but I could see both sides of this one. Really loving the new UI art for the HUD! Keep up the great work!
