The digital world is alive with unlimited possibilities. The whole world is connected instantaneously at a mere tap or click, something what we could only imagine a couple of decades ago. However, as today's parents (that's us!), we're a bit concerned to see children being a wee bit too absorbed in their mobile devices, and missing out the fun that the real world has to offer.
Now, we're not building a time machine (let us know if you're kickstarting one; we want in!). What we decided to do instead is to merge the best of both digital and real worlds and call it... The Forest Adventures!
The Forest Adventures
The Forest Adventures is an interactive and personalised mobile game for children (ideally aged 3 to 7), where they embark on a simple adventure, either by themselves or with you.
In this endeavour, they will be tasked to assist their new forest friends to get back home, just in time for bed. This game sets up your child with six new friends:
While helping them get home, your child will befriend them and learn a bit about the animals, including their habits and habitats.
First Pen Pals
After successfully reaching home and getting their much-needed sleep, the new forest friends will want to write to your child to express their gratitude.
And as parents, you'll get to be the first to introduce your child to the exciting world of penpalship, from the interactive adventure of the digital world, to the joy of snail mails. A good opportunity to teach them about enjoying the journey, not just the destination, just the like old days.
At the moment, each envelope contains a letter from the respective animal and fun stickers for your child to play with. Over time, more mementos will be available for purchase as well, including t-shirts and plush toys!
Now let's talk about the real world adventure. When a forest friend writes to your child, the uniquely designed envelope contains a note of gratitude to your child for helping them out with a little tidbit about the particular animal, as well as some fun stickers!
What's in the Mail?
1. The Envelope
Your child's mail comes in a 120.65mm x 165.1mm envelope, made from 100% recycled paper, big enough for the contents, yet small enough for your child's hands.
2. The Letter
Written especially for your kid by each animal, the letters are not just printed in fun typefaces, but more importantly, on 148mm x 209.97mm ,100% recycled paper. Fun and friendly for your child, and the forest too!
3. The Sticker
Each sticker is 148mm x 105mm, and is filled with various designs of all sorts of sizes and colours. Designed to work with your child's exercise books or even the fridge (probably).
Project Timeline & Milestone
If our debut is a successful one, we plan to release more adventures in other terrains: under the sea, in the desert, and who knows, may be even space! (We're not quite sure what animals live in space, but we'll let our future selves worry about that.)
About the Studio
Who Are We?
We are CliQers, passionate people with children of our own. (Some of us, while currently without any, are still children ourselves!) Other than the desire to merge the digital and the real world, we are also equipped with individual skills and experience in game and mobile app development.
We believe that we can do so much with the digital world. Our first step is so bring back the joy of yesteryears' snail mail into our children's live, like how we enjoyed it during our childhood. This unique letter, customised with your child's name, is designed to capture the immersive experience of receiving a real-life mail right at your doorstep, into your child's inquisitive hands.
Risks and challenges
As with any exciting project, ours, too, come with a few challenges of its own.
First was, of course, brainstorming on the theme. From aliens crash-landing on Earth to kids finding their way to school, we finally set our hearts on a story of forest friends finding their way home—The Forest Adventures!
Once that was out of our hair, came partnerships and logistics. It is vital for us to have trustworthy partners who can deliver what we want, how we want, when we want. We’re still trying out our candidates at this stage; hopefully we’ll find the ones as we go along.
Speaking of logistics, we’ve all lost our mails some time in our lives, haven’t we? So we’re making sure that the couriers we’ll use have reliable tracking systems. Eventually, we’re looking at devising our own system to make it more convenient for you.
Being a first such project for us, we’re bound to encounter other risks and challenges by the time we complete this project. But we’re not that worried, as we have a great team, ready to take on any that comes our way.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
