C.H.I.P.sters and Pocketeers!

A year ago today, our C.H.I.P. Kickstarter campaign closed. When we started, we had no idea we would receive this much support from our backers. Your enthusiasm has kept us motivated and we couldn’t be more excited that rewards are making their way into the world.

It has been, and will continue to be a pleasure having you along for the ride. Thanks for your love and support. None of this would be possible without you. With the campaign coming to a close, we thought you might enjoy a short peek behind the scenes of our Kickstarter video! Enjoy!

ADDRESS CONFIRMATIONS

If you’ve confirmed your address, we’re shipping your rewards as fast as we can. If you haven’t confirmed your address, what are you waiting for?! Head to track.getchip.com and we’ll get your reward shipment in the queue.

PLEASE NOTE: We are only confirming and shipping Kickstarter rewards right now. If you are also a getchip.com pre-order customer, those confirmations and shipments will begin in the latter half of June.

DUTIES & TAXES

All shipments outside of the United States may be subject to additional duties and taxes. These are based on the value of the items in your pledge. Each country has a different cutoff amount. For more information, check your national government’s customs policies.

EMAIL > KICKSTARTER MESSAGES

If you need to contact us, email ahoyahoy@nextthing.co, rather than using Kickstarter as a third party.

There is an issue with the integration between ZenDesk, our customer service platform, and Kickstarter messages. We read and respond to every Kickstarter message, but have found that our responses through ZenDesk get lost instead of getting back to you. We are working to resolve the issue moving forward.

Again, for questions and support, email ahoyahoy@nextthing.co.

POST-KICKSTARTER

We’re going to keep doing what we’re doing, but we won’t be posting everything here. For new information, projects, and general fun times, check out the NTC Blog.

Learn about what the community has brewing, check out our C.H.I.P. projects, go behind the scenes, and check out what’s inspiring us. There are always new posts!

Stay Tuned. There is much, much more to come.

I got a notification a few days ago that mine was shipping, but at this point I really don't care. A year ago this was a pretty cool product, now it's just another cheap small single board computer. I doubt I'll ever even power mine up.

@Rodney, Indeed... This isn't my the first campaign I have backed either. I know what I signed up for. I think a lot of people can identify with the sentiment of feeling unappreciated. The campaign would not have been negatively impacted without my support and I am sure others feel the same. I don't expect NTC to not take pre-orders and I don't expect them to wait months to fulfill orders to their customers. I do think that it's a little rude to effectively promise almost immediate shipment to new customers while existing investors have to wait an indeterminate amount of time.

@Michael, at least you didn't flip out and rant and rave. However, lets be honest, it's not like you didn't know that May was the likely shipping date when you backed the project. And did you then expect NTC to what?...Sit around and wait until December to start selling the CHIP on their own website, so you could feel a little special ? Like most people on the planet, the people at NTC need to get paid to sustain their lives.
Most of the products I've backed on KS have gone onto sell their products on their own websites and many have accepted pre-orders during the campaign. Getting upset over this seems somewhat silly. You've come here to help bring a product to life, and be a part of that process.
You make me realise that KS is just not a place for everyone.

I decided to write this message as a response to those criticising others who's patience is wearing thin. It's ok for people to feel annoyed by how things are panning out. For example, It's almost 13 months since I pledged on this kickstarter campaign my selected reward was at the $64 level including a C.H.I.P., PocketC.H.I.P, and HDMI adapter. After shipping costs the total I paid, over a year ago was $89. Thank goodness I did, without my pledge the campaign would only have exceeded it's goal by a tiny $2,071,838. I understand when I pledged that I would have to wait, that there would be delays, and that the product could be unfinished. However, sometime before my pledge has shipped (still hasn't) the product became generally available for preorder on getchip.com promising shipping "by June" (on the shipping details page) not sure what NTC think "by June" actually means. Ordering the same items from my pledge would total $86.09 including shipping (I did exclude the C.H.I.P. case which I understand kickstarter backers get for "free" which would take the total neatly to $89 but I don't really need or care about that). So I have spent a year without $89 in my bank account, which the campaign did not need, for very little benefit. I could even have saved money by being equally patient, and not taking any risk on an unproven product. So it is easy to see why many people feel a little bit annoyed by how things are going at the moment. I am still looking forward to receiving my C.H.I.P. etc. and I am glad to have been a tiny part of the campaign; I just wish I didn't feel so completely unappreciated.

It's been a while since I backed this project (almost a year now) and I have yet to get what I ordered. Is there an ETA on shipments or somewhere that I can get an update and look up the ETA for myself of when I will receive what I ordered? Thanks

They even put it in bold.
@NTC, well done on a well run campaign. My PocketCHIP is doing the Hong Kong post shuffle, but I'm sure it will arrive before Christmas.
