C.H.I.P.sters & Pocketeers!

We're heading to Maker Faire Bay Area and taking PocketC.H.I.P.s with us. If you're in the area, come by and try out PocketC.H.I.P. for yourself.

And on Sunday, don't miss Dave's talk on the center stage, PocketC.H.I.P. or: How and Why We Made the SciFi Device from our Childhood!

CONFIRM YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS!!!

We want to get your rewards to you as quickly and simply as possible, so we built a new shipping system that is easy to use and directly connects you to our shipping partner.

Our new system replaces the Kickstarter and BackerKit fulfillment methods we’ve used in the past. If you have sent us your address using one of those systems, it’s already been transferred to our new system. However, you MUST confirm your address is correct in the new system.

Expect an e-mail from ahoyahoy@nextthing.co very soon with a link to confirm your address using our new shipping system.

AGAIN: Your pledge will not ship unless you have verified your information. This is true even if we have already shipped you a C.H.I.P.!

Mass production is underway for PocketC.H.I.P.s, HDMI adapters, and VGA adapters! We will be shipping in batches beginning the last week of May. Some batches may not ship until early June

EMAIL > KICKSTARTER MESSAGES

There is an issue with the integration between ZenDesk, our customer service platform, and Kickstarter messages.

We read and respond to every Kickstarter message, but have found that our responses through ZenDesk get lost in the ether instead of getting back to you. We are working to resolve the issue moving forward.

The best solution both long and short term is to contact us directly at ahoyahoy@nextthing.co, rather than using Kickstarter as a third party. Again, for questions and support, email ahoyahoy@nextthing.co

Stay tuned!

So its the middle of the last week of May (Technically) and still no shipping confirmation email. Any chance we'll see this soon or are we looking at a June ship date now? An update on this would be appreciated.

      Nobody received the email!!!

    10. Debra Reasoner on

I also have not received the address confirmation link. I must be one of the folks receiving mine in June I guess.

    11. Todd Decker on

I still haven't received that "you must respond to the message to confirm your address [for the third time] or you won't receive your award" email. Could you provide status?

      Cmaaaan where's that email?

no email yet. So when you say soon ... do you mean like within a month soon, or a quarter?

Same, no email yet. Unless it got buried into the automated spam folder. I had to have to dig through that.

Has anyone received the email to confirm the shipping address? I'm super nervous about missing it. We really shouldn't have to do these extra steps just to receive it.

The May 3d update mentions the new shipping survey would happen in "the next few weeks" but even that is pretty vague. Surely they could get this out before the end of May...because after all, they are supposed to start shipping then!

Well, it might seem that their server got overloaded or treated as "spam" by the big mailservers, since I haven't received anything at all. And I am also wondering if (and when) my pocketchip will get sent...

So... how soon is 'very soon'?

    23. John Elliott on

Man I hope that email didn't get eaten by my spam filter. ahoyahoy@nextthing.co seems a little suspicious to me

I'm a little disturbed we have to jump through an extra hoop to get the goods.

What happens if the spam filter kills this email? Is there some way to know if it was sent or not?

    24. Karen Simon on

When is the email coming to confirm my shipping address?

Does anyone have dimensions on the pocket chip yet? I'd like to start designing a 3D printed case for it with better buttons.

      @ Mark A,

Have a read of this: http://blog.nextthing.co/timeline/pocketc-h-i-p-time-machine/
It shows that NTC received a bunch (200) prototype PocketC.H.I.P.'s in February as a way of testing the manufacturing process. I'd hazard a reasonable guess it's those units that will end up at the Maker Faire for people to test out.
Hopefully these will start shipping in the next few weeks, I'm rather excited to see how well they work !

So, a giant PocketCHIP... If this is just a prop, it could be way cooler.

Wack-a-mole buttons, a hand full of 1N914's, and and an Arduino to make a real keyboard.
I estimate a 48" TV would be about right... Though a 48" touch screen would be pricy, one could be rented.

      T'would be gnarly!

Awesome! Looking forward to playing around with PocketCHIP!

    29. Mark A. Andrews on

So, let me get this straight.

You have time to go to Maker Faire and take some PocketC.H.I.P.s for the folks there to "try out PocketC.H.I.P.", yet you don't have enough for those of us who funded the PocketC.H.I.P.'s creation and manufacture?

      Really?

I think those of use who pledged to your project with the enticement of a reward and made this project a success should get first crack at whatever PocketC.H.I.P.'s you have in inventory before the mass public gets to experience them at Maker Faire.

    32. Mathieu Moneyron on

Where do we have to confirme our shipping address ?

    33. Nathan Thompson on

Ya'll got any of them PocketC.H.I.P. sources? I've been anxiously awaiting them to appear on github.

      John OHalloran on

Looking forward to seeing you at Maker Faire.

Any chance we can pickup our PocketC.H.I.P. there?

    35. Todd Decker on

I love that we're *almost* getting to shipping... but, annoying that I have to validate my shipping address for a third time or otherwise I do not receive my stuff. I'm very excited about the possibility that my PocketCHIP will be on its way soon and look forward to the email I'm supposed to use to validate my shipping again.
