Yesterday we launched the Dashbot Kickstarter campaign, our next C.H.I.P. powered product.

Dashbot is the world’s first AI-powered hands-free car kit, designed so you can keep your smartphone in your pocket while you drive. It provides simple visual cues and 100% voice control for you maps, messages, and music (including voice support for Spotify, NPR One, ESPN Radio, among others).

Dashbot installs in seconds, works in any car, keeps your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel. And like all NTC products, it’s completely open source.

Now for the GR8 news! 

We’ve updated the software for both C.H.I.P. and PocketC.H.I.P. by adding a driver for 3D acceleration! We’ve already seen Pocketeers fragging with Quake III and running Kodi. Updating is simple with our new and improved Chrome web flasher. 

As an extra bonus for updating, C.H.I.P.s with Hynix flash storage will receive an additional 4GB of space. That’s right! Double the storage. It’s as simple as heading to flash.getchip.com. Update today!

C.H.I.P.sters and Pocketeers!

 

Alex and the rest of the software team have released the first major software update to C.H.I.P.! The most important addition is support for HDMI and VGA DIPs.

If you pledged for HDMI and VGA DIPs, you’ll need to update your C.H.I.P. for them to work together. Luckily, Howie and Tina built the C.H.I.P. flasher, which works directly from the Chrome web browser. It takes less than 10 minutes.

To get your C.H.I.P. ready for the DIPs, head to flash.getchip.com and click GUI 4.4.

IMPORTANT NOTE: A C.H.I.P. that supports DIPs does not support PocketC.H.I.P. and vice versa. C.H.I.P.s can be reflashed to work with either, just not both at the same time. Alex and the software team are working to make everything work nicely together so that future releases will be compatible with DIPs and PocketC.H.I.P. at the same time.
