I am producing and raising money for an ambitious, low-budget, feature-length sci-fi film, RAVENFALL™, which is currently in development/pre-production. I made a test video a few years ago and the concept was met with enough interest that people wanted to see me attempt to do a longer film. The film is intended as a vehicle for Métis/Cree/Sioux actress Tanis Parenteau. It will be an exciting and thought-provoking chase thriller set across the highways and by-ways of a near-future American landscape.
To be shot over several locations (similar in style to the original Mad Max), the story follows a Native American woman called Raven and her motorcycle club who are on the run from pursuers. As they flee, they encounter a mysterious young man who has escaped his confinement in a top-secret research facility. Now that company - on the verge of an evolutionary advancement in technology - will stop at nothing to get him back. But who or what is he? Human, machine or something new? Should they risk capture by helping him?
Actress and filmmaker Tanis Parenteau (whose professional acting credits include the award-winning Netflix series House of Cards) will portray the title character of Raven. She's ready to take on this empowered Native woman and will provide collaborative input into the character. Additionally, Tanis is a strength trainer and fitness expert, and is therefore perfect to help showcase the physicality and athleticism the role requires. The production needs to raise at least $35,000 to get off the ground and before the cameras. It's a starting point. The money collected will go towards cast and crew rates, food, travel expenses and lodging, camera costs, insurance and permits, make-up, wardrobe, props, and set design. As a contributor, your name will be attached (possibly with a producer credit and IMDb credit) to an exciting feature film that you'll help make.

Risks and challenges
The challenge is to take our concept and turn it into a feature-length film on a low budget, with emphasis on infusing Native American aspects into the story as Tanis Parenteau will step into the tough-edged role of Raven. Additional Native actors are being auditioned for other roles.
We'll bring Native tribal consultants on board to ensure accuracy of the Indigenous content and provide the best representation possible.
We want to show a positive portrayal of Natives as heroes, adventurers, and forces of change but we need your help to realize our vision, one that's sorely lacking in many mainstream films today.
Regardless of busy schedules, we will find a way to shoot the film that accommodates everyone or rather, times that everyone can agree upon as a team. We won't lose focus. The locations will be ready-made (as we'll primarily be shooting outside and calling on favors of property owners) and we'll have location managers who can adapt and find replacement locations if the need arises. We'll make sure we're covered in terms of insurance as well.
We have an experienced, skilled, and diverse crew and will combine our efforts to make a professional product that's both entertaining and thought-provoking.
We'll bring the commitment needed to complete the project, and get all rewards fulfillment to our backers on schedule.
