Update #16

Pre-Order Option Now Available! New Playable Character Vote Soon!

We know that some people wanted to donate to our Kickstarter but missed the deadline or were unable to do so for various reasons, so we've teamed up with the Humble Store and are now offering the option to preorder the game directly from our website. Preorders come in two options - a basic option that just gets you the game as well as a special edition option that gets you some of the goodies that were available during the Kickstarter (Digital Soundtrack, Art Book, Strategy Guide, Wallpaper, and Forum Avatars).

We're also working with the Humble Store to distribute the Steam codes of our previous games to everyone who donated at those tiers and hope to have those all out later this month or December.

Finally, we're planning on starting the vote for the new non-human playable character soon, so if you have any ideas you'd like to pass on, now is the time! :)

      What about an Elemental?
      But then more sci-fi ish.
      Space Elemental!
Bonus points if the element it is made of is a fictional element.

A Q(from star trek) like character that can take on the form and abilitys of any of the enamys it encounters

How about a character like Leila from Futurama: does not know her origins, but you discover them along the course of the game, and they are not what you expected? Yes, that's vague, but I'm just a backer tossing out ideas. =)

A Time Machine (from the Future thus having superior AI and is capeable of talking and doing laundry>(by reversing the time))

      Attacks e.g.:
      Time Stop(Stun)/knock backs
      Buffes Speed/Slow
      Grandfather Paradox
Summon random companions (Like Deep Crow in PA4) from different Ages and Timelines (e.g. Dinosauruses, Delorian, medieval Knight, 2014 Pax visitor, scince fiction stuff and/or combinations of all (creativity, references, puns unlimited))
Ultimate attack: END OF TIME (Kills all enemys exept of 3)
      etc etc.

Something I always liked about older PC rpg's is the level of character customization. So for the new character I'd like to see a robot who's composition is entirely up to the player. Different heads, arms, legs, weapons and all of it several sprites that fit together to create your shiny protocol droid, armored gun platform or rusted out Frankenstein scrap heap. Every part would have different stats associated to it, so outside of the robot's CPU his or her HP, MP and all that stuff depends entirely on the level of parts equipped. Weapons are a given but with enough parts for the rest of the body it could become a tank (literally), an agile backstabber, a medical bot with healing beams, equipped with a range of elemental based weapons or loaded with special effect causing attacks (that's a good way to make status effects useful by the way, attach them to regular attacks so the player doesn't "lose a turn" by trying to use them).

Personality wise, something nonstandard would be nice. A military bot that's been retasked into a construction worker. A Nanny bot looking for her family, not realizing it's been a hundred years and they're long gone. A gardener bot forced into fighting for the resistance with a bolted on laser pistol it wants no part of. Or you could go the hard route and make it so different parts have an impact on how the robot reacts and speaks to other NPC's/the player.

With a truly modular party member, players would be free to build it how they please for whatever the situation calls for. The door's wide open for a variety of personalities all coming from the same character.

An electronic mess on robotic tentacles with a wide variety of camera eyes, everything from telescopes to camcorders; subsumes electronics/machinery into itself at need/whim. The more you have it's attention, the more cameras/sensors it turns on you. Limited mass capacity. Keen on random biological experimentation. Lacks any moral sense and regularly needs to be counseled on why "you shouldn't do that". Its uncaring curiosity can be utterly monstrous if left without leadership/comrades.

How about a mass of protoplasm that chooses a vaguely human shape, but out of choice for communicating with humans. Normally it prefers to be a spheroid shape, least surface area to volume, growing pseudopods tentacles to operate machinery. It speaks through a voder with a synthesised voice. Not very strong, nor agile but very hard to kill so potentially can survive any encounter, recover and free characters after a solo mission.

Since it's billed as a Sci-fi/Spy game, maybe a character with shape shifting abilities? Could emulate enemy abilities and protect the party from random encounters?

Bring back the dodo! They aren't really extinct, they just left the planet.

My PC suggestion would be a hawk that is sitting atop a turtle that is sitting atop a fox. I leave you to figure out the sweet, sweet details. Take care.

Not that I'm opposed to the alien alien type, it's just harder to connect with a character who is mold in jar. But still, I like the idea!

Yes, I'm tired of humanoid aliens too. Aliens, should be... alien!

Maybe the non-human character should be non-humanoid as well? We've all seen lizard people, bird people, cat people... What if it's not a "person" at all, not based on any "animal"?What if it's a fungus or a mold or something? A rock? (Plant-people have been done before. Rock people have, too, maybe even mushroom-people, but I've never heard of a mold in a jar or something.)
