About this project
In the year 2190 Earth is embroiled in an interplanetary war with an aggressive alien race called the Khuttari. The nations of Earth must decide to fight alone or form an alliance in order to defend Earth. Admiral Benjamin Ryan a highly-regarded military leader is chosen to lead the Earth Alliance forces and prepare for war. The Khuttari war is not the only conflict Admiral faces. He is at odds with his rebellious eighteen year old son Thomas. Thomas is headed down the wrong path and is forced to join the space service at the outset of the war. After entering the academy Thomas forms a reluctant mentor relationship with Captain Miles Harper, the new Academy commandant. As the war progresses Thomas and his father find themselves playing a pivotal role defending Earth from the Khuttari threat.
Why Earth Alliance?
As long as I can remember I've been a fan of SCI-FI Action Adventure stories, especially those involving outer space. As a young boy when I wasn't outside playing ball with my brothers, I would be glued to the television set watching reruns of Star Trek, Lost in Space and Twilight Zone. Back then I watched those shows for the cool space ships, the strange new worlds and the weird aliens.
As I matured into my teenage years and into adulthood I realized that those shows were not only delivering great SCI-FI entertainment but at times they provided great social commentary, while also examining the human condition. These shows used their various concepts to delve into politics, race relations, war, religion and a bevy of topics and issues that mankind faced, I enjoyed them immensely. As the popularity of Star Trek increased leading to the creation of the various Trek spin-offs as well as shows like the rebooted Battlestar Galactica and Firefly was created. I found myself even more drawn to SCI-FI Action Adventure.
This brings me to why I decided to create Earth Alliance. Earth Alliance will serve as my vehicle to write interesting SCI-FI stories. I've always thought where are the original SCI-FI comic books? It seems that we are constantly inundated with books that feature new super heroes. Earth Alliance will be that new original SCI-FI story. Earth Alliance will be an ongoing comic book series that will deliver not only great SCI-FI drama but stories that provide social commentary while not being to heavy handed. The stories will examine a wide range of topics. I promise to deliver stories that are unique, fresh and promise to please not only the hardcore SCI-FI enthusiast but any comic readers that enjoy great story telling.
The purpose of this Kickstarter campaign is to fund the production of issue one. If you choose to support my campaign you will see that all 27 full color pages are produced with professional quality. All of the funding from this campaign will go directly to the artists and for printing copies of the book. Any additional funds that may be gained will be used to fund future issues if we are so fortunate. Below are actual pages already completed from the book for you to enjoy. There are also samples of incentives offered for your support.
Thank you in advance,
The Case for War
Like on Earth the Khutarri have a political system. Here we see two of their politicians, each with opposing views debating the justification of war with Earth. I wanted our main alien antagonist to show a level of sophistication and process. I didn't want to present the typical brutish, ugly aggressive aliens we so often see. I really think our two artist outdid themselves on this page. Marc Olivent who does our pencils and inks created a Khutarri world that is unique and fresh. Rachel Ward our colorist brought it life with warm vibrant colors
A father and son at odds
As I mentioned in the intro, Earth Alliance promises to deliver stories that examine humanity. Behind every great SCI-FI drama is a human element that we can relate to. Here we see a few of our main characters. Without revealing to much, this page shows a father and son at odds. This is one of my favorite sequences in the book.
A Viscous Attack
The Khutarri decide to launch a brutal attack. A good SCI-FI story must have elements of action and adventure. This page is just one example of the jaw dropping action you'll find in Earth Alliance. Again Marc and Rachel did an incredible job bringing this to life.
Earth retaliates, again bringing that familiar human element to Earth Alliance. This page shows the Ryan family in turmoil. They are forced to deal with the trials and tribulations of war.

Risks and challenges
I've spent the last twenty four years in various management roles in a large corporation. I've led large projects and managed large teams of employees spread across vast geography's. While that may not directly correlate to producing comics, it does provide you assurances that I'm firmly qualified to deliver a quality product on time. I know how to align myself with good quality people.
I certainly don't foresee any challenges. I can tell you that both Marc and Rachel have been very professional and timely with their respective assignments. I don't foresee any issues. We have a completed script that is waiting to be brought to life by these wonderful artist.
They have truly been a joy to work with.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
