We are Dora Giugliano and Richi Braendli and we are the creators of the MAGA book. We gathered a group of 30 artists, designers and illustrators from 17 countries around the world to visualize selected tweets of Trump in their very unique way.
The result is a collection of beautiful artworks in various techniques and styles: From collages, to graphic designs, to illustrations – the MAGA book contains a lot of different styles of art and design. The diversity of the book gives an insight into how cultures around the world look at Donald Trump’s tweets and shows the different interpretations of his statements.
By donating all net profits (generated on our website) to the climate change foundations Greenpeace and 350.org, the MAGA book supports actively the fight against climate change.
The idea of the project is to help fight the climate change that Trump is denying so strongly. We think that Trump gives us the ammo to fight climate change with his own weapons.
But the book is not just about helping mother nature. We also want to give these great artists a platform to showcase their talent. We did not limit the artists in any way: They were free to interpret and visualize tweets however they wanted. This way, we display true freedom of speech.
Last but not least, we want to make Trump’s statements accessible to a wider audience – people who are not on Twitter, or maybe don’t speak English. That’s why the book is translated into different languages.
We believe that the MAGA Book is a great art collection, obviously produced on 100% recycling paper. Through our kickstarter campaign we hope to find enough supporters to produce the books, so that we can sell it and that way actively help 350.org and Greenpeace.
Supporters of the MAGA Book win three times: They get a beautiful collection of artworks, they support artists from around the world, and they’re helping climate change foundations. So much winning.
The artists in the MAGA Book have been working on this project together for the last five months and come from all over the world: Argentina, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, USA, Venezuela and many more countries. The goal is the same for all artists: Help fight climate change and make the readers laugh, reflect and think.
The book is printed on 100% uncoated recycling paper, 115 gsm. It is 8x8 inches, contains 152 full color pages and comes with a perfect sewn bound soft cover. The content is translated in four different languages: English, German, French and Italian.

The group includes award-winning and renowned illustrators such as Guy McKinley, Luciana Guerra, Wulang Sunu, Eliane Mancera and many more. Here’s a selection of the artists:
It’s actually pretty simple: We do not want to make a profit, or create goodies. The more support we get, the more books we can produce. The more books we can sell, the more we can donate to the climate change foundations. This is about mother nature. Any support you can give will help the future of everybody on this planet. (IMPORTANT NOTICE: Kickstarter does not allow to give donations directly to charity from a kickstarter campaign. Donations to Greenpeace and 350 will be given from the sales of our webshop.)
But there's more! The $4,000 goal for this project is just the start to get the first edition printed. The more we can bring in, the more we can do! For every $500 we generate beyond our initial goal we unlock a new level!
If we reach $4,500, we can produce bumper stickers for your car!
If we reach $5,000, we will be able to translate the book into a fifth language.
If we reach $5,500, we can create custom t-shirts of the MAGA book.
If we reach $6,000, we will be able to translate the book into a sixth language!
If we reach $6,500, we can create a custom hard cover version of the book!
If we reach $7,000, we will be able to create a limited edition of the book (with golden engravings on the cover)!
And if we reach more than $20,000, we will be able to create a second volume of the book with new tweets! (And believe us, there are soooo many more tweets that we already wanted to illustrate)...
What do we need the money for? Money for this project will not go directly to Greenpeace or 350 (Kickstarter does not allow donations to charity directly), but will be used to produce and distribute the first edition:
- Pre-press, printing and shipping (incl. supplies).
- Covering Kickstarter. Kickstarter and credit card fees take 10% of the total.
Note about shipping costs: The donations listed do not include shipping. After you click the "Back this Project" button you'll be asked to choose shipping. Just choose the shipping that is needed for your location. We kept the costs as low as possible, but unfortunately, international shipping is not cheap :(... but at least we can guarantee that the cost include shipping and packaging and that the book will arrive safely at your place.

Risks and challenges
Printing is an imperfect process. While we are already working on the pre-press files for the book, we have a printer with a winning bid. If any issues come up we will communicate with all backers via updates.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: No funds raised through Kickstarter will be donated directly to charity. Funds will be used to finance the print production. Funds later generated by our sales will be provided to charity, but no funds contributed directly through Kickstarter's site can be donated.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
