Performance Audiobook Released and ENNIE Nomination
Hello! Lots of good news today!
If you bought the novel during the Kickstarter, you should have already received a message with instructions and a 100% discount code to download the audiobook from Drive-thru Fiction. People that upped their pledge on BackerKit received the same message.
(I apologize for making the distribution of the audiobook more complicated than just sending everyone the files. Backerkit has a hard cap on file size it will allow through digital distribution. Nineteen separate mp3 chapters definitely goes over their limit.)
I'm thrilled with the work Fae Kells did on the recording. It's a bizarre experience hearing someone read your novel back at you; even more so when they make it come alive in ways I never could have imagine. Fae did a fantastic job on Performance, and I think you'll all be thrilled with her work.
With that, the only outstanding rewards left from the Kickstarter are stretch goals. We're picking away at them as our post-shipping budget allows, but this thing is looking dangerously close to a finish line. I can hardly believe it. Thanks again to all of you that helped this dream come true.
Le Corbusier is done and edited. Chris has finished translating my shitty hand-drawn maps into something readable, and the text is currently in layout. We're just waiting on art now. I expect to have the whole supplement finished by the end of summer.
Writing contracts for the other supplements are out and budgeted. I'll edit them as their writers finish, and then I'll commission art as income allows. The shipping fiasco ate the stretch goal budget, so I can't promise a timetable. I'll commission the visual work once book sales allow me to. I don't want anyone working on credit.
Perhaps the most exciting news of all... Red Markets got nominated for an Ennie! In the category of BEST GAME, no less.
Never in a million years would I have thought my first RPG would get nominated for an Ennie, not to mention in a year with so many great games as competition. For the whole RM team, this is an honor beyond our wildest expectations. But it's an honor for the backers as well. Without your generous support, Red Markets wouldn't even exist: our big beautiful book owes a lot to this community. Thank you so much.
While I can't ask more than that, I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that voting for the Ennies is open. If you are kind enough to want to throw even more support our way, the opportunity is but a few clicks away.
Remember (I can't believe I'm typing this), the category is BEST GAME.
Again, thank you so much for helping this dream come true. Have a great day, and, as always, hit me up if need anything.
