Website Hacked... Again
For some reason, Hebanon Games seems to be quite the target for hackers seeking to steal that total lack of financial information we collect. I guess giving away things for free enrages them.
This time the tech guys (I am NOT one of them, obviously) say that the malware was installed over the course of months before it was activated, some of it even hidden within the security plugin we installed after the first hack. This means that all of our database backups are corrupted going as far back as the release of The Fall Without End.
Basically, Ean and I are going to have to rebuild the entire website from scratch. The important stuff (specifically, the scenarios) are all securely backed up, and we'll get them re-uploaded on the new version of the site as soon as we can. The blog content from the last 13 months, however, might be gone forever. We'll try our best, but the site will be down for quite some time while we wrestle with these issues.
Needless to say, this is going to delay the unreleased scenarios even further while we try to get our means of distribution back up and secure. I personally apologize for all the delays and any spam that commenters may have received as a result of this breech. Rest assured that if Hebanon Games ever monazites its products in the near future, it will be done through a reputable third party and not my incompetent ass.
Alright, I'm going to go nuke the site, then find a quiet place to cry for a bit.
