Welcome to Free Me the Game
Our mission is to simply connect you with real people through laughter by playing a fun game that diminishes the virtual power of our manipulated, social media lives and restores the signal strength between you and the real world.
Live in the moment. Block the noise. Be spontaneous.
The Object of The Game
Be the first to collect all of the Social Media Blunder Cards and drive away your friends and followers.
Along the way you will encounter Social Media Disasters (SMD's) like the Mom, EX, and Stalker cards that can dramatically change your card count at anytime. Also, lurking in the deck are the slap-able Slap Chat cards that get you Free even faster. In addition, you can challenge opponents to Blah Blah Blog and Hashtag battles where it's your chance to ad lib your own snarky comments, hashtags and blogs. This is where the rich scenarios give you a chance to add the punch line!
Finally, the loser, or player who loses all their cards, must flip over and carry out their Black Card Challenge over their actual social media profiles. Black Card Challenges are fun just to do and posting is predetermined by the group beforehand.
Each Blunder and SMD card features original illustrations created specifically for each individual card. The corresponding posts and hashtags found on every card have been developed to create stand alone, satirical artworks.
Recently, Jeff and I were on a plane together heading to New York for a shoot. Before take off, Jeff looked like he might be sick- he wasn’t the best flier but I had never seen him so queasy… especially before take off. I handed him a puke bag and he handed me his phone. On it was a picture of his daughter’s diary entry that he had taken that morning in secrecy. His daughter wrote the following: "...My Dad is always on his phone every minute of every second...I wish he could just play with me...and my Mom always sneaks chocolate out of the cabinet and eats it she can't share a piece with me…" (*Diary Below) Jeff wanted to get off the plane and run to his daughter smashing his phone along the way. That got us talking about the way smartphones and social media have become extensions of our central nervous system. Even in airplane mode we both periodically reached for our phones feeling phantom buzzing signaling that we had a new message, poke, tweet, pin or status update. Once we landed and were heading to the hotel, everywhere we looked, peoples' faces were buried in a screen- while they were talking, walking, driving, parenting, and dating. Even later that night at the big screen people couldn’t seem to keep it in their pants. What happen to non-autocorrected conversations, eye contact and spontaneous laughter?
So, we challenged each other to delete the nonessential noise coming through our phones- and made a friendly bet to see who could go the longest without social media. It wasn’t easy. But after a few days, we felt better and more present- although Jeff did slip once and made a non-work related status update... and he paid the price. The loser had to do an embarrassing dance move in public at the top of every hour no matter where we were or what we were doing. This challenge lead to two important developments: the first, was forming the basis of what later would become Free Me The Game. The second, was getting Jeff signed up for some much needed dance lessons. We have played our test deck numerous times with close friends and family and Free Me the Game was a huge success... and we have Black Card Challenge videos to prove it!

Risks and challenges
All of the creative elements, production, and logistics have been tediously worked through during the past 6 months. We recognize that with so many elements printing issues and delays may arise. This is why we have arranged for a small run of test decks to ensure the highest of quality. Once funded we will immediately place our order with long time trusted game manufacturer here in the USA. It was important to have our manufacturing done in the USA, at home, where we can visit the factory, oversee and ensure proper printing and packaging. In addition, we have contracted with a reliable fulfillment company that will handle each and every order for our Kickstarter delivery. Our past Production expertise has given us the experience to not only avoid pitfalls but to oversee every element of a project until its completion. Our proven track record demonstrates that whatever obstacle may arise, we are prepared to handle. We are not only enthusiastic about our product, we are 100% prepared and ready to fulfill each and every order for our important Kickstarter supporters.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
