Update 1 - 03/11/2018: Text and link corrections, additional imagery.
Update 2 - 09/11/2018: Text corrections, additional imagery, addition of Altar of Sacrifice reward tier.
Necromagis is a 2-4 player, expandable card game, about using the dead for your own twisted machinations! Players assume the role of necromancers, controlling undead minions, casting forbidden spells and desecrating cursed artifacts to best their opponents: other necromancers.
If plotting the horrid, blood-curdling demise of your friends sounds like your idea of fun, we invite you to read further...
We have multiple options for backers depending on how much you would like to contribute, but every tier will give you access to Necromagis, either the special edition print-and-play version or the final product.
Also, as of 9th November, here's our new Altar of Sacrifice pledge level! This has been added after campaign launch in response to backer feedback.
We want everybody to be able to access Necromagis in a way that suits them, either the print and play or the printed Core Set. Our stretch goals provide visual add-ons but don't preclude backers of certain pledge levels from the full Necromagis experience!
We've made postage and packaging simple. If you're in the UK it's free and anywhere else its £3.
Necromagis is a finished game, and we even offer a trial print-and-play version for people to try out and see if they like it. We've recieved excellent feedback and critique, and Necromagis has evolved in response to become the game it is today.
Just in case, this link should also work! It also includes the rules for you to brush up on your Necromancy - practice makes perfect, after all.
With this Kickstarter campaign our goal is to produce the first official print release of Necromagis, using high-quality components to make it look professional, as well as to make it more convenient than its current print-and-play format.
The print release of Necromagis is expected to ship out within 1-2 months of campaign completion, but with the special edition print and play you can begin playing Necromagis almost immediately! You will need to provide your own printer and scissors, however. We are very sorry.
Necromagis aims to deliver challenging strategy and combat, from duels to 4-player mosh pits, all from the 104-card deck with no extra components needed!
No HP-counting, no dice, no putting counters on cards, no pens and no paper; the game is designed to do these things with cards alone, and in a simple visual way.
Various setup options are available to suit your style, whether you want to get right into the action or get your own deck to assemble the shambling army of your nightmares.
Our feeding/wounding mechanic allows you to feed your undead minions with any card from your hand, both increasing their power and making them harder to kill... huge, monstrous zombies can withstand the attacks of smaller opponents with ease!
Any card you feed to your minions may reveal itself as a wound during battle, leaving a scar that reveals a flip effect! Almost every card provides either a wound effect or magic power, and this can mean the difference between victory and defeat.
If you can't block an attack, you Defile cards from your deck... every Defiled card goes to the corpse pile, which any player can dig up to increase their power!

Seeing and hearing that people enjoy our work is one of the greatest feelings of all, and we would be glad for you to join us in the morbid, hopeless, brain-munching future that awaits all in Necromagis!
Necromagis has been transformed in response to critique and testing, but our core principles for the game are unchanged: Easy setup, small footprint, robust mechanics and strategic gameplay... and really cheesy, blood-spattered artwork.
Necromagis is the first game developed by Loft Goblins, an indie duo composed of Chris Miles and Alexander Lee. We've worked together for a long time on various game concepts, but Necromagis is the one that really started coming to life.
We're inspired by games such as Boss Monster, Pixel Tactics, Star Realms and a slew of similar great titles. Necromagis is our offering to the broad genre of adversarial card games.
We've been trying hard to engage with testers and games enthusiasts across Facebook and Twitter in an effort to drum up interest for a Kickstarter campaign, and we're delighted how well it's been going so far.
Necromagis features artwork that may not be suitable for players under the age of 15. Necromagis features gore and violent themes.
The developers of Necromagis would like to remind players in the strongest possible terms that digging graves and building corpse piles in real life is completely illegal, morally reprehensible and may carry a severe prison sentence.
Necromagis has a couple of groups on Facebook - one for general discussion and another for testing/gameplay - and you can reach us there if you have any further questions about Necromagis and its campaign. If you just want to drop by and say 'Hi!' please feel free!
We can also be reached via Twitter, and you can even see some nice little promo and artwork shots on our Instagram page!
Why back us, anyway?
Here's a more concise rundown of what you can expect when backing Necromagis:
Design complete. Game is 100% complete and ready to play.
Artwork complete. No messing around with card layouts or sourcing more artwork; we’ve finished it all.
No booster packs, no extra bits, no fuss. Backers of the relevant tiers will be receiving a full game with all the necessary components to start tearing the place up!
Risks and challenges
As the design for Necromagis is complete - including actual game design, packaging art and such - the risks have been limited. We are running our campaign in order to secure funds for printing and distribution.
Backers can be assured that they will recieve their backer rewards as quickly as shipping transit will allow - in the case of physical rewards - and that digital rewards such as the development diary and the Special Edition Print and Play version of Necromagis are projected to reach completion long before the campaign is over.
We're intending to use Amazon's fulfillment program, so we can distribute to the entire world.
The delivery dates for our rewards have been estimated according to our correspondence with printing companies and Amazon fulfillment, but naturally, in the event of any issues with shipping, we will deliver full and thorough reports of progress as quickly as possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
