For me video games are …

virtual Environments subject to given Rules. As such they are open to anything, not just mere playing. Games are one of the foundations of social interactions and as such they are fundamental to being human, the Video Games we are seing today are simply the beginning of a new mode of social interaction and the negotiation of new social contracts, that will only gain traction and relevance as we move forward.

The most embarrassing moment of my gaming career was …

Scratch the ”was”: The most embarrassing moment of my gaming career is never playing Ghosts’n’Goblins further than the first flying demon. I tried a thousand times and failed every single time and never went further than this one flying fucking bird-chicken-thing-demon. I suck hard at Ghosts’n’Goblins and I’m not proud of it.

The best game nobody has played is …

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy on the Xbox (2003), classic Action-Adventure with lots of Jump’n’Run-Elements. Nothing special, but very smooth controls and pacing. This and ”Jinx” or ”Jinxter” or something on the C64, an Arkanoid-Ripoff but sideways.

Games journalism should …

write about games.
