A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:

KASSKIT is the one and only solution that saves lives by locking the driver’s phone screen. It denies the driver’s access to the smartphone, eliminating the phone’s distraction, without jamming the signal or affecting other passengers.
Once installed, KASSKIT can’t be easily disabled or disconnected by the user, giving an extra layer of security to ensure that drivers continue to do the right thing.
How it works?
In few words, as soon as the vehicle is turned on, the KASSKIT hardware embedded in the driver’s
sun-visor sends a signal.
The KASSKIT software, on the driver’s smartphone, detects that signal and forces the phone into a lock-screen.
The phone will continue to function normal, and only the screen access is blocked. So drivers will hear the notifications, but will be blocked from reading or replying to any messages or emails.
The signal is short range, and it only covers the driver’s section of the vehicle without interrupting the passengers’ phones.
The Kit we named: KASSKIT
KASSKIT Sunvisor (A hi-tech live saving sunvisor)
KASSKIT Sunvisor is a replacement sunvisor with a KASSKIT Chip embedded in it. The Sunvisor is hardwired to the vehicle’s ignition system. As soon as the vehicle is turned on, the chip inside the sunvisor starts sending a unique signal.
The signal is short range, and only cover’s the driver’s section of the vehicle. Once the vehicle is turned off, the chip stops and the signal ceases.
KASSKIT Software (Locking thumbs away)
KASSKIT Software is designed to detect the signal from the KASSKIT Sunvisor, which indicates that the user is in the driver’s seat of a turned-on vehicle. The software will force the Screen Lock to block user access, and will turn-on Bluetooth to establish connection with the handsfree system for calls.
KASSKIT Software will be initially offered as a free App, downloadable on any smartphone. To prevent users from disabling the KASSKIT Software, the App will be password protected.
KASSKIT Dock (Practical and convenient solution)
We needed to find the right balance between everyone’s reliance on the phone, and the safety to everyone that uses the road. And we believe that with KASSKIT we hit gold.
We know that drivers need their phones to safely receive and make calls. KASSKIT lets calls through and from the phone, only through the vehicle’s communication system or other handsfree options. That reduces the driver’s distraction, and frees both hands to control the wheel.
We also accommodate for drivers that need their phone for navigation while driving. The KASSKIT Dock is made for that and much more. Only when the phone is docked into the KASSKIT Dock, the KASSKIT Software allows access to all phone features, including navigation.
The KASSKIT Dock also provides Bluetooth connection for handsfree calls, all while wirelessly charging the phone.

Let’s face it, every solution we currently have for that problem is motivational. Encouraging drivers to use handsfree, Bluetooth, built-in vehicle comms systems – Encouraging drivers to do the right thing, but between 36 and 64 % don’t?

Risks and challenges
During the last 11 months we have overcome many many challenges, foreseen and non-foreseen. It has been a roller-coaster ride at times, and obviously we had some frustrating moments.
We have tried to avoid re-inventing the wheel, but in few aspects of this innovation we are recreating a new technology from bits and pieces of existing one with many boxes to tick. Despite accomplishing all major milestones, we still have few challenges to overcome.
1- The technology
The technology of the signal between the hardware and software is the challenge. While it is easier to use Bluetooth or WiFi, same as our current prototype, those connections can be disabled by the user which UN-TICKS one of KASSKIT's major advantage.
The idea is to create a foul-proof connection that can’t be disconnected by the user, as long as the vehicle is turned on. We found it, and it worked, however we are trying to stabilize a useful signal range.
2- Replacement sun-visors.
KASSKIT hardware is embedded inside the replacement Sun-Visors. The challenge is that we will need to provide a replacement Sun-Visor for every vehicle’s make, model and color.
We can overcome that challenge by working with car manufacturers, for upcoming vehicle production.
For vehicles that are already of the road, we will need to collaborate spare parts manufacturers and third-party factories.
