Hi there - My name is Lena Eivy and I'm a Seattle based family photographer. Over the past year, I've created a workbook called, "How to Photograph Your Child" full of easy to follow step-by-step guides so that anyone - regardless of equipment or experience - can take stunning images of their children.
Photographing my clients, I realized that the same questions came up over and over: "what makes good light?" "how to you capture REAL smiles?" and "how do I use my DSLR to get that blurry background?" I wrote this book for them.
In this 80 page workbook, I cover how to find flattering light, compose a good image, use color, get a blurry background and much much more. I've broken the book up into 12 chapters - one for each month of the year - and begin each chapter with a professional quality image. I then walk the reader through - using lots of pictures - exactly how to recreate that image with their own child.
I am looking for funds to cover the cost of publishing this workbook. I will be self-publishing through Lulu and all orders will ship directly from them. I chose Lulu because of the quality of the product that they offer.
Risks and challenges
While I don't anticipate any delays in shipping the book once the kickstarter is funded, it is possible that Lulu will get backed up. I plan on placing the order with them at the beginning of April which should give them over a month to deliver the book in time for Mother's Day.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
