Thank You for stopping to look at our project! We are excited to introduce our project to you, a strictly limited edition custom set of playing cards called “The Meeple Deck.”
The Meeple Decks are the First in our series of limited edition playing card decks. Each deck in the series will have it’s own unique look and concept, based on something that we are passionate about. For our first deck, we are focusing on The Meeple – the famous “Euro” board game piece. Jordan and I are both lifelong gamers, and between us we own thousands of these pieces in various forms. This custom deck is our homage to the Meeple in all its forms.
The Visual Style for The Meeple Deck is by a mash-up of the unique outline of the Meeple itself, and classic playing card elements. The number cards feature meeple-fied suits, and the royalty are equally meeple-fied. Even the King of Hearts gets the full Meeple-sword-in-head treatment.
The Card Backs are a symphony of Euro board gaming visuals. Meeples, wooden blocks, and the ubiquitous “score tracker” all make their appearance on the card backs.
Clean Design is important for a great play experience. The Meeple deck is a great conversation starter, but we also expect these cards to be played. To ensure a great play experience, we designed these playing cards to be easy to use and identify both when in your hands for games like Hearts or on a table for games like traditional Solitaire or Stud Poker.
The Meeple Tuck Box will be designed to proudly display our friend the Meeple. We will be releasing updated images of the tuck box as we go forward.
*All images of the deck and tuck boxes you see in these photos are prototypes and/or production files. The finished product may vary slightly from what you see here – backers will be kept up-to-date of any minor changes that occur. The overall design and theme will remain UNCHANGED throughout the funding and printing process.
• Fifty-two playing cards and two jokers – all with original and bold imagery. The Meeple Deck is ideal for card games of all types and even magic if you’re like this guy.

We have been active on Kickstarter for years, both in creating projects through Fun to 11 and Geek Dynasty, and in backing projects. We find the environment of Kickstarter to be one of creativity and exploration. We hope that you will help us make our limited edition Meeple Decks a reality, and we thank you for your support and encouragement.
If you want an extra of either the LIMITED EDITION BLUE or LIMITED EDITION GREEN decks, just add $11 to your pledge for each deck you want ($14 for Mexico, Canada, and Europe).
Early Press for the Meeple Deck
Here's a link to an article over on Kardify about the Meeple Deck. A good look at the motivation for the project and the people behind it. You can ignore the main tuck box image as we plan to tweak that with backer input during the campaign.
Risks and challenges
Very low risk here. We're using a US printer (USPCC), so customs shouldn't be a potential problem. Geek Dynasty has done a previous Kickstarter campaign that shipped on time, and the owners of Geek Dynasty is part of Fun to 11, which has done 4 successful Kickstarter campaigns; all of which shipped on time or early.
Of course if Jordan or Luke gets hit by a bus, that would change everything. And as always, the risk of weather related delays or factory strikes, while small, is real.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
