Hi Everyone,

Thanks for helping us reach $300,000 pledged. We've reached our second major stretch goal, PvP City Raids!

Player vs. Player City Raids: Select a party of adventurers to storm a copy of another player’s city and bring home their treasures. Leaderboards will rank and track the deadliest fighters and most impenetrable fortresses.

New Stretch Goals!

Last Friday we announced the next set of stretch goals. Here they are...

New Class - Geomancer: Manipulate rock and stone to bolster your city's builders, flattening or raising earth as the cause demands. Craft tireless golem workers so everyone else can take a much needed break.

She put green lights in their empty eyesockets--a fanciful touch, but she felt it gave them character. Now, she checked each rune for dust, noted every crack for the touchups she'd handle tomorrow. Powered them off, one by one. Slowly, green lights dimmed to black. "Good job, guys! Finished the whole square in just two days!" She dusted her hands, patted each fondly on the head, and shut the warehouse door.  

In the dark, one pair of lights swirled back to life.

Enemy Faction - Elementals: When conditions are just right, unstoppable giants of fire, rock, ice, and air rampage across the land, destroying everything in their path. Appease them or prepare your defenses...

Verne Earthwalk fought to control his voice. "My Lords," he managed, "when I said that your incessant digging made the earth angry, I meant it. Literally."

New Class - Engineer: Fiendishly complex traps. Steam pumps. Black powder. In his moments of genius, this Master Craftsman boosts your town's productivity with miraculously advanced tools and weaponry. In his other moments....

"With steam, human ingenuity, and enough pipes, anything is possible!"

Seasons!: Horde food for the winter and farm up a storm in the summer as the four seasons cycle over your town. Building, farming and fighting all gain new depth as rising temperatures parch the land and falling snows drive your settlers indoors.

"SNOW DAY!!!!"

Alternate Planes: Many dimensions lurk beneath the fabric of reality. Lured by the promise of untold riches and arcane secrets, your bravest townsfolk open portals to previously unknown realms. What could possibly go wrong?  

Through the door I saw... the sky. The sky at night, when the stars fill one end of the horizon to the other. Except... the stars were ordered in perfect rows, like corn in the field. And little round plates studded with rubies dashed around between them, jabbing lances of light at each other. One of the plates... flew apart as I watched. In a ball of fire!

...No more mushrooms for me.

      I'm so stoked that you guys have made it to $300K. I'm very happy that we will get to use the Geomancer. What I visualise a Geomancer doing might be different to what you design in the game.

      Will just having a Geomancer allow you rise and level the ground whenever and for as long as you like? Actually, will you be supplying details on the Geomancer to see what they do?

      In fact, do you have in depth details of all the game's functions and gameplay?

      I have to say thank you as the days pass this game gets more and more exciting and it sounded amazing from the start. Also the Geomancer sounds amazing! way too cool!!! Thank you i'll be counting the days until launch!

      Thanks everyone for your feedback, support and suggestions! Some Q&A:
      @jjetplane209: When you join a PvP instance, we plan to have some way of showing the mods are installed on both sides so you can decide if you want to raid a city with CASTLE_WALL_OF_INSTA-DEATH.
      @David Leras: yes, PvP is opt in.
      @Weisgerber Laurent: Yes, it's Player vs Copy. The more complex, real-time version you suggest would be a lot harder to implement!

      Any more information you guys can provide about the Beta release? I'm incredibly excited about this game, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

      Also, since we'll have access to the development suite, are there any limitations you are putting on it to keep things balanced? Say if I create a new monster or a new character class, whats to stop me from blowing it way out of proportion? The only reason I ask is the interaction with other players through PVP and player created modules.

      This game cannot be finished soon enough! (but please, take the time you need to put your vision to life) Everything I hear about it puts me further onto the edge of my seat in anticipation, and I very much like this style of PvP gameplay where we can have our cities intact, yet still know what they would take in a siege.

      Very much hoping to reach the 400k goal, coop would be impossibly sweet... I'm going to double my original $50 pledge, and hope that more people join in to push it along!

      Yeah I have no interest at all in the open-world PVP model. I am a casual player and don't have time to babysit a video game to make sure that my virtual world isn't wrecked by a 12-year-old with an angry spirit and infinite time on their hands. Is it possible to simply play in single player mode without the risk of interacting with others?

      I know it's only in Prototype but I funded Castle Story and so far I'm quite disappointed with the controls - not as intuitive as I wanted them to be.. so I'm REALLY hoping Stonehearth plays as well as it looks as frankly, it looks beautiful :)

      One quick question about the whole stretch gola thing.. presumably even if certain stretches aren't met in the Kickstarter timescale, will you guys work on those features moving forwards as some of them sound great!!

      Did I get it right that PvP isnt acually Player vs Player? but Player vs a copy of an acual player. so that the real player doesnt actualy take any harm?

      On one hand i like that idea because you dont risk that people lose the fun in playing because thex get bashed or farmed all the time. on the other hand the attaked player will be driven by an AI, so the reactions will be the ones of an AI which takes all the fun of an PvP Battle.

      I would like to see an opt in System where you can choose in the beginning of the game if you want PvP at all, if you want the copy thing or the real deal. The downside would be that you need more servers to host the game?

      I guess the game will be server hosted? Well the Version without real PvP interaction or Coop wouldnt need a serverhosting, just an image of a world with the copied Players...

      I really hope this game reaches at least 400.000$ - I already put down 50$ instead of the 15$ tier. I probably would go a little bit higher if a new digital tier would be going live between 50 and 100$

      I don't suppose we will be seeing mounts for increased movement speed or transportation of materials during the next batch of updates, will we? I'd love to see a cart/wagon of some sort, built by the Engineer, that a mammoth can pull to collect resources, then pull it over to work site, to help free up the works from traveling long distances.

      OR... perhaps the engineer can build siege weapons to help in the bigger battles!

      OR... mass transportation from one town to another if you're able to build multiple towns for resource and faster army delivery!

      Okay, I'm getting ahead of myself. You guys are just doing too many cool things already, it's making me think of all the possibilities!

      I hope we reach Seasons, it seems really great, I'm not much into multiplayer, but alternate planes sounds cool too.

      Nnnnnng..... I want stretch goals. I want them so bad. Frankly I'd be happy if we hit $400k, and if it looks like we might fall short by the end, I'll definitely be increasing my pledge.

      Definitely reaching $400k is the way to go. There's some awesome stretch goals in between. The new classes sound cool. This game is sounding better and better!

      I'm not a fan of PvP but other people are so this is still extremely awesome, I hope this reach atleast 400k there is so much awesome stretch goals left and I would really like to see the coop multiplayer. Fingers crossed.

      I would love to see the Co-Op mode! i hope they reach it, i already doubled my pledge :)

      @Phillip, it's listed on the kickstarter page under the Stretch Goals heading. It's at $7,400 as of the 13th.

      Last I saw, it was somewhere in the 7-8k range. They do drop that information in the comments from time to time.

      I was wondering... You said that your pledges from PayPal would add up for the stretch goals, right?

      Is it possible for you to let us know, how the total stands, or maybe just give a hint? :)

      @Nick Hanson - They've said it'll be quite awhile before Underground comes into play, and it might somehow be part of the planes. They might have your civ go into a mineshaft, and he comes out on an underground plane perhaps? Just a thought. But yeah, they said Underground mining will be a ways away I believe.

      @Paul Baim - I see nothing wrong with alternate planes. It's like alternate dimensions. A mass of different interchangeable planes that you can bounce back and forth from as much as you'd like.

      I love all the new stretch goals!
      That said I'm a bit confused because I'm still not sure when mining/underground is coming and it seems to me that would be a fairly major one and yet less major then "Alternate Planes." So either "Alternate Planes" means less than I think it does or mining/underground is going to be one of the lesser goals between Co-op multiplayer and Alternate Planes.

      These are some of the best stretch goal ideas I've seen in a KS game! Now come on guys, just 100k for the glory of co-op!

      Engineer, Traps, Me wants.. Can not wait to stuff 1 Gear + 10 *Large Steel Serrated Disks* to turn a enemy to shreds.. Or what other fun traps actually do exist in Stoneheart...

      Awesome new stretch goals. Super stoked for geomancer and seasons in particular!

      I don't know if this is an option for you guys, but if we hit the 400k+ goal, maybe you guys can add in a goal for an extra coder/designer to help y'all out and release the game a month or so earlier?

      Getting co-op is pretty much a sure thing at this point - we've gotten to the slump that happen in the middle of most Kickstarters and the money coming in is still well above the minimum we need for $400k. With the current total (including paypal) we need less than $6k a day to reach that. However, we'd need about $12.6k a day to get to the alternate planes, so hopefully the devs can get some more media coverage to get a boost in backers.

      But this is definitely awesome. that we reached the City Raids.

      I really want to know more about the Engineer class. That really sounds like a lot of fun.

      With PvP city raids reached I have to ask, will there be castle building in the vein of Stronghold Crusader?
