Global Fusion Yoga is a video series of online yoga classes that gives a cultural context to your practice by highlighting regional styles and techniques. Classes will be filmed in Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, and India over five months. Each video will provide background on the session’s yoga style, followed by a full-length class with detailed poses and sequences.
With all of the different styles of yoga in the world, why limit yourself to just one? When your yoga routine becomes too routine, Global Fusion Yoga broadens your perspective and re-energizes your practice. This series will focus on the roots of yoga, its evolution, and how various styles have assimilated into local cultures. No matter your age, physical ability, or yoga knowledge, Global Fusion Yoga is your ticket to learn about the different branches of yoga and fellow yogis around the world.
All videos are filmed on location in Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, or India and feature aspects of the local culture. The series is comprised of ten videos (and possibly more, depending on project funding) which will be made available for download so you can practice anytime, anywhere!
Each class episode features a 5-10 minute introduction detailing the history and origin of that class’s yoga style, its assimilation into local culture, and the community of yogis who practice it. After the background has been established, you will embark on a 45-60 minute yoga class focusing on that style of yoga, with clear instruction for each pose and sequence.
Sample class: Yin Yoga in Bali, Indonesia
By supporting this project on Kickstarter, you’ll be the first to receive downloadable versions of the videos, which will eventually be available for sale on the website, MPisforMaryPatton.com.
