Save the printed book - with innovation!
Waiting for the real world to Catch Up! is the story of a quirky inventor who always wanted to have a million dollar idea - with a playable game on the fold-out back cover!
The book took over three years to write and has been extensively workshopped, revised, and professionally edited. Funds will be used to offset the cost of the first published edition of the work.
Scottrick is an inventor who always dreamed of having a million dollar idea, and when he finally has one, it's snatched away by greedy and jealous coworkers. After bungling through a series of misadventures, he is reduced to working alongside actress wannabe Tina Fey at the YMCA. (The author actually worked with Tina in 1993!) Emboldened by her success, he achieves fifteen seconds of fame by writing a book in the obscure field of collectible kitchen gadgets. But is this enough to land him in the hot seat on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?
The story is Scottrick's somewhat memoir, which seems to borrow considerably from the author's true-life background - but - due to various exaggerations, fabrications and downright lies, it's really the memoir from hell! Scottrick certainly doesn't care, because he wants to tell the story his way - truth be damned. Traditional committee-driven publishing is bothered by the premise, as well as the game on the cover - and why shouldn't they be? How can other books compete?
As a fun bonus, the reader experiences Scottrick's wild song lyrics and rock star personna, "Bug Eyes," the label from his Nixon Dog Food, the booklet from his Pet Rock-like clothing for telephones, his winning recipe from a barbecue contest on "Live with Regis and Kelly," and the pop music themed game, "Bandazzle."
