About this project
"It is a well known fact that students of magic learn to hone their powers by summoning Imps from other planes of existence. Weaker than other extra-dimensional creatures, but safer to invoke, these Imps still prove useful in the competitive elemental duels young magicians compete in to prove their worth!"
Imps Devilish Duels is a hybrid dice and card battle game for two players. Each player controls a team of four mischievous Imps, each of which has a skill based on their elemental alignment. To win, you must bring together the best combination of imps for your chosen strategy!
A game of Imps tasks players to fight a series of elemental trials (Earth, Fire, Water & Air) using their dice scores in different ways to defeat each other.
With a game time of around 20-30 minutes, several rounds can be played in quick succession.
Imps Devilish Duels features amazing artwork by Mateusz Wilma and stunningly devious game mechanics by Kedric Winks designer of our recently published game, Cadaver. Imps Devilish Duels delivers a challenging game experience for two players!

My Final Judgement then… Imps – Devilish Duels is a game that has such a deep strategy hidden within it.... and you’ll have yourself a game that will have your brains crunching every time you play it, and I like that! I can’t wait to see what the other 14 Imps will bring to the table (as said the version I played had only 12 out of the 26 in the complete game and these 12 sort of manipulate the game in the same way for the different elements) but this game, even as is, is solid gold for me.

On the surface, (the Imps) they look simple and quick to play but there are enough depth and strategy in them to make you want to go back for more. With them being easy to set up and quick to play you can try lots of different combinations and strategies. I love head to head 2 player games especially when you can adapt the game to your own style. David and I have really enjoyed this and as always it was a pleasure to play.

Inside the wooden Collectors' Edition
The collectors' edition of Imps Devilish Duels contains everything in the retail version, but is packaged inside a beautiful hand-crafted wooden and comes with the addition of a wooden tray to hold your dice during the duels.
The wooden box edition is a special Kickstarter option and will not be available through other channels. These laser-cut boxes are made by our friends at www.basicallywooden.co.uk and are beautifully constructed and hand-finished.
With the basic funding level reached we can make the game as above. With extra funds, we can add some cool extra features to imps

Imps Devilish Duels is an easy game to learn!

Your aim is to bring together a crack team on Imps and lead them through a series of punishing elemental trials against your opponents team of Imps!
Each player chooses four individual imps to form their team. These imps are kept secret in your hand until the correct moment.
Both players simultaneously choose four dice from their pool and roll them. The dice are lined up in elemental order facing your opponents' dice of the same type: (green dice) Earth, (red dice) Fire, (water dice) Blue, and finally the (transparent dice) Air elemental dice.
The starting player (nominated at the beginning of the game) now plays up to two Imps from their hand to aid him in the battle. The opposing player now selects two imps to play.
The starting player now has the option to re-roll any two dice from the original four dice rolled, roll two additional dice from their pool, or a mix of both options. The opposing player does the same. Place all the dice in the dice tray (if unlocked).
The players now work through the elemental trials, comparing their scores. The highest score wins. Players can now use their imps to manipulate the game and dice scores in their favour.
Winning the early trials give you additional advantage in the later trials - see the following chart for how winning and double winning gives you an edge.
Whoever loses the Air trial must banish one of their imps from the game. The player who loses all their imps loses the game!

This allows us to ship directly to you without the hassle of import charges. If you are outside these regional distribution centres we will try and minimise the chances of import duties with the correct documentation, but you may find additional import tariffs applied.

Kedric Winks is an independent games designer who is finding his stride. Only discovering gaming in his late twenties, he almost immediately transitioned from player to designer. Originally inspired to write games as a way to challenge industry conventions, Kedric now has to write games to keep all the ideas from taking over his limited brain space.

Robin Elliott is co-owner of Triple Ace Games and has many years experience working in the games industry as a designer and artist. He now manages all of Triple Ace Games' tabletop projects and continues to create his own game inventions when he has spare time, which is not often enough!
Risks and challenges
The design and all of the artwork has been completed for Imps, so we know exactly what will be going into the final product. We also have a great deal of experience in the field of games publishing. We learned a lot from publishing the Rocket Race and Cadaver card games, and we think we can deliver this project without problems.
However, things can go wrong with anything that goes into a manufacturing process. We have identified that delays in manufacturing could happen. So we have allowed additional time in our schedule to enable us to navigate any delay issues. If all goes to plan, we may even be able to deliver the project a little sooner.
We understand the printing process as we have printed a good number of books and games previous to this project, and we know how to communicate our ideas to the printer. We have discussed proofing requirements, so we know that when the printing press is started our product will match our specification requirements.
With projects like this there is nearly always something that costs more so it is good business sense to have some contingency for this, which we have built in to our costs.
