“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.”
― Ursula K. Le Guin, The Left Hand of Darkness
This project is to fund a physical Hellfrost Gamemaster Screen. Please note that while books in the pledge levels come with a complimentary PDF, there is no option for a PDF-only screen.
Constructed from 2mm card, the GM screen is four-panel, landscape aspect. The players' side shows some of the glorious art you expect from the setting, while the GM's side has essential tables.
Bundled with the screen is an exclusive 32-page booklet - Hellfrost Journeys. This comic-book format supplement looks at ways of spicing up land and sea journeys, collects all the travelling rules together (and updates them), and gives advice on running encounters. It's the perfect companion to the Hellfrost Atlas and Map Sheets.
IMPORTANT: The tables are Hellfrost specific. We do not own the rights to the core Savage Worlds rules and thus cannot duplicate tables from that book.
Supporting our Kickstarter is easy! Just follow the steps below:
1. Choose the pledge level you want. We have all of our recommended pledges detailed below.
2. Click "BACK THIS PROJECT" and select your reward level (called REWARD) on the page following.
3. Enter your total amount.
You are free to amend your pledge at any time using the green 'Manage My Pledge' button.
This project is designed to be as simple as possible. Thus, there are just two pledge levels - one for GMs who already play Hellfrost, and one for those just starting their adventures in the icy wastes.
Shipping is not included in the pledge level prices. It will be calculated and added to your pledge via Backerkit after the project ends.
Estimated postage and packaging costs for the Experienced GM pledge level are: UK £3, EU £9, USA £9, Rest of the World £9. Shipping for the Novice GM pledge level will be approximately three times this amount.
What happens if we make lots of money? Well, we have a stretch goal specific to this project!
NEW SCREEN ART
Unlocked at £5,500 (app. $6,900)
If we reach this level, we will commission a new piece of full color art for the screen exterior (the players' side). This piece will be a single continuous image designed to cover all four panels. Funding this stretch goal will mean the estimated delivery will be January 2018.
We have already discussed this with our chosen artist Justin Russell who did an amazing job on the City Book project! A piece of his artwork entitled 'Dirty Little Thieves' features on the standard GM screen!
So, we hope to hit the stretch goal so we can commission Justin to create a brand new piece of art for the GM screen and make it a truly special accessory for your Hellfrost games!
Triple Ace Games began in 2008. The masterminds behind the company, Paul "Wiggy" Wade-Williams and Robin Elliott, had previously worked on The Savage World of Solomon Kane and Slipstream settings, among others, for Pinnacle Entertainment Group. Triple Ace Games has produced many popular settings, including Hellfrost, Leagues of Adventure, Leagues of Gothic Horror, and All for One: Regime Diabolique, plus the Rocket Race, Cadaver, IMPS, and Halfling Feast card games. With many years of experience in the games industry, we continue to create fantastic games for everyone.
Risks and challenges
We have a great deal of experience in the field of games publishing, and we think we can deliver this project without problems. We have the art and text all ready to go!
However, things can go wrong with anything that goes into a manufacturing process. We have identified that delays in manufacturing could happen. So we have allowed additional time in our schedule to enable us to navigate any delay issues. If all goes to plan, we may even be able to deliver the project a little sooner.
We understand the printing process as we have printed a good number of books previous to this project, and we know how to communicate our ideas to the printer. We have discussed proofing requirements, so we know that when the printing press is started our book will match our specification requirements.
With projects like this there is nearly always something that costs more so it is good business sense to have some contingency for this, which we have built in to our costs.
No matter what problems may occur we will always keep our backers and supporters informed of all issues so that you are aware of the situation and how we are dealing with it.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
