Game Contents

Backers, here is some more information about the game. This is a hard update to write, because the rewards change with every stretch goal. We’ll start with the core game that we planned for the $55,000 funding pledge and try to make it clear what bonus items have been added already. As well as listing the contents, we’ll describe the miniatures some more. Let’s start with the box! It will be 30cm by 30cm by 30cm in size and will weigh about 5-6lbs. This is a sizeable game. First the plastic miniatures list. The core box started at 33 miniatures:

• 4 Pilgrims: The Monkey King, Tripitaka, Cho Hakkai, Monk Sha

• 3 Demon Lords: Koorogg the Bull Demon King, Yazuiji the Empress Iron Fan, Kogaiji (Koorogg’s son)

• 2 Borrack Bull Generals

• 3 Boof Bullserkers

• 5 Bharhaz Bull Archers

• 15 Berrok Bull Warriors (1 pose but two weapons)

• 1 Kei Lun Heavenly Creature

These miniatures are made from ABS and PVC. These two plastics have different properties and allow us to create the best results with thin and thick parts of the miniature. We can show pictures of the resin minis so you can see what the sculpts look like. We will show pre-production plastic minis as soon as we have them, but we know what the factory is capable of and we’re demanding high quality plastic minis for this game. As a reference, look at the 1/35 military line from Dragon, there are many reviews by real customers on the web.

The smallest base is one square on the map tiles, so 30mm by 30mm for Tripitaka. The largest base is 4 squares, 60mm by 60mm for Kei Lun. Measuring from base to eye level, the Tripitaka miniature is small at 45mm, The Bull Demon King is larger, 90mm, and the Heavenly Creatures are just huge, 130mm for Kei Lun. Did I just say “Heavenly Creatures”? That was supposed to be secret! We have already unlocked more miniatures. At the pledge total of $100K, backers getting the Boxed Game Upgrades will also get:

• +1 Borrack Bull General

• +2 Bharhaz Bull Archers

• +4 Berrok Bull Warriors

• +1 Zing Yau

But the game is far more than just the miniatures:

• 6 Custom Dice

• 9 Single-Sided Map Tiles

• 4 Double-Sided Bridges Tiles

• 10 Double-Sided Door Tokens

• 12 Profile Sheets, one for each type of miniature

• 40 Pilgrim Skill Cards

• 50 Demon Cards

• 1 Fortune Spinner

• 80 Fortune/Misfortune Cards

• 20 Ongoing Condition Cards

• 35 Objective Tokens (10 Victims, 10 Sutras, 10 Mystical Boxes, 5 Water Wells)

• 5 Demon Gate Tokens

• 4 Initiative Tokens

All miniatures released in the stretch goals are supplied with all the cards you need to play them. For example, the new independent Demon Zing Yau comes with his Profile Sheet and extra Demon Cards. This means that the above list will also change as we unlock stretch goals. Of course, future Boxed Game Upgrades will change this list too. We are making miniature versions of some tokens. Different quests use different numbers of objectives. It is impossible to given firm numbers right now, as balancing the Quests will be the final task, but typical games use 4 Sutras Tokens and 6 Mystical Boxes. You can always mix card tokens and minis, perhaps using minis near the Pilgrims current location. There will be more detailed information on these other game components as the campaign continues. The game is in the final stages of development, so the contents are still subject to change. All miniatures in the core game are supplied unpainted.

I also agree with reaper steve

    2. Creator Marrow Production on November 9, 2013

Hey, backers. There is a typo in the contents list. There are 10 Demon Gate Tokens in the box. This is more than you need in the Quests.

    3. Creator Eli Butcher on November 6, 2013

I agree with @Sean Sicher, I would definitely pay a bit extra to replace all the cardboard tokens with a collection of minis for the objects, etc. A straight up plastic Upgrade package would be easiest and guarantee usage of the molds. I'd pay for it...

    4. Creator AGN1964 on October 21, 2013

@Reaper Steve, Glad you saw the FAQ. So this looks like a pretty good deal. Price breaks and we are probably getting more than the regular game. Win Win.

    5. Creator Sean Sicher on October 20, 2013

As a continuation of Reaper Steve's request for the objective tokens to be casted in plastic, maybe one way to offset the cost of the steel molds is to offer a package with the 10 or so boxes and 10 or so sutras to replace all of the tokens for a reasonable price. I would love the additional effect of the boxes but $50 to cover all the tokens in resin is a bit much, not to mention the brittleness of resin.

@ AGN1964: thanks for letting me know about the FAQ.

      @Marrow: thanks for the clarification!

Denis, some goals were made on the second day too. Weekends are often slow, and the start and end are much busier that the middle. I hope we can keep moving along, it's fun to see more of the game being revealed.

      why so much bull

    9. Creator ray bans on October 19, 2013

@Denis, they are revealing stretch goals as the last one is achieved, so expect more, other comments and updates have also implied this.

    10. Creator AGN1964 on October 19, 2013

@Reaper Steve, I think you got their attention. They have answered you question in FAQ.

    11. Creator Steven Ford on October 19, 2013

Great update. Thanks for the clarification on the tokens.

    12. Creator Kosongz on October 19, 2013

      +1 for double-sided tiles

      @AGN 1964
I was thinking the same thing too.
"Huh? A cube for a box?"
      Thanks for clearing that up.

As I understand, all stretches were archieved in first 24 hours of the campaign. It is really great and it shows that you underestimated how interesting will look the game on kickstarter : ) Game is forwarding to like 500k, i suppose, and probably even more. Are you going to add more new stretches? I', just curious - I can easily live with that you are going to add now, as it sounds superb as it comes now already!!

    14. Creator AGN1964 on October 19, 2013

      @Balgin, I think that's a typo. I saw 30x30x15 in comment days ago.

    15. Creator S Buntenbach on October 19, 2013

@John- more or double sided title are my Goal wish number one too

    16. Creator John D on October 19, 2013

      Nicely summed up, Marrow.
I think resin for the objective markers is fine (but I'm resin biased), and I'll probably settle for 4 or 5 of each. I'd like to see some more Game Tiles appear, the art for the boards really sets a tone for the world the figures traverse. I'll keep my fingers crossed for those.

    17. Creator Philip L on October 19, 2013

Thanks for the update - makes things real clear, I looked at the 1/35 dragon military figures and they look great to me (i'm no expert though), and well reviewed.

    18. Creator Balgin Stondraeg on October 19, 2013

Wait, the box will actually be a cube? That's slightly deeper than I'd expected but I'm sure it will be bundled full of fun. Now I just need to work out how to tuck it under one arm on the long walk into the village to catch the bus to my weekly gaming night :).

    19. Creator Reaper Steve on October 19, 2013

      Another question:
Are the Boxed Game Upgrades upgrades to the retail version of the game, or just for Kickstarter backers? I'm just curious (the answer doesn't change the fact that either is a great deal!), but the name is confusing. Some Kickstarters have stretch goals that 'upgrade the boxed game' that will also be sold at retail. It's hard to tell if this campaign's Boxed Game Upgrades are permanent additions to the game box, or additional models just for those that pledge at an appropriate level.

    20. Creator carcharodon carcharias on October 19, 2013

Wow! So currently for $130 I'm ALREADY getting a massive box full of fantastic mins, great looking components from a young, keen company who seem to have the same ethos as myself when it comes to quality and customer service.

No complaints from me here, anything else you add to the core game is gravy! Keep up the excellent work guys!!

    21. Creator AGN1964 on October 19, 2013

I think the plastic/resin question is answered by the cost of the steel mold vs the number of backers. Those molds are expensive. If the pledge total goes up who knows what might happen.

    22. Creator Geoff Mason on October 19, 2013

      Got two requests here.

1: Alt. poses for the Berrok Warriors. Even just having one alt. pose wold go a long way to adding some variety to the look of them. Maybe make it a stretch goal when we hit a certain amount so that you can pay to tool up another sculpt.

2: Double-Sided Map Tiles. Again a bit of variety can go a long to making the game both more visually appealing and to create a more interesting gaming situation. Also would not mind if this were a stretch goal in order to pay for the extra costs.

Other than that, keep up the good work.

    23. Creator Levi on October 19, 2013

      Seconded Reaper.

    24. Creator Reaper Steve on October 19, 2013

      Thanks for the content list!

Please let me add to the requests for the miniatures that replace objective tokens to be done in plastic. I could see myself getting enough of them to replace all of the tokens (at least in a typical game.) If enough people were to do the same, that quantity should justify the expense of the mold. Plus, as primarily a gamer (not collector or painter), I want game pieces that aren't fragile, even if that means they lose a bit of detail.

    25. Creator S Buntenbach on October 19, 2013

will the Premium "only" see objects for the game ?
will the addon Minis only get in resin or will we see (a cheaper) Plastik Version?
