The Apogee is the new short film from Writer/Director Glen Simister, a comedy about the greatest wine to ever be produced.
Having directed three previous films before (Jump Start, God Hates Me, Pragmatic Repudiation), The Apogee is the last short film to be directed in Glen's association with Salt Lake Community College's film program. Not only is The Apogee a showcase of accumulated skills, but also a demonstration of a refined writing and film making style that can be showed to future investors/studios in an attempt to fund several, already written, feature films in the Salt Lake City area. You're funding not only benefits the efforts of filmmakers for this short film, but also their future film careers.
Striving for true, uncompromising artistic expression, our short film requires some additional financial help. Your contributions will fund the Cast and Crew's on set meals, gas expenses, film props, location releases, filming licenses, make-up and wardrobe, post production processing, authorship supplies and film festival entries across the world.
We feel the script is one of the best short films--not only about wine, but on a larger scope, what film is truly about, an expression of the human condition. --that we have produced. There are a lot of laughs, fantastical expressions and existential self-reflection. You will all have a ball with the film. I can't wait to show the film to all of you when we Wrap this August.
Thank you again for any support you can possibly provide. Evey dollar helps. It's a scientific fact that better films are made when the bellies of Grips, Camera Operators and Best Boys are assuaged.
