About this project

This table-top role-playing game hearkens back to an earlier time when post-apocalyptic was meant to be fun. While some would describe it as "gonzo" we tried to create a setting that, while it may be full of bizarre characters, is a place where the characters need to fight to survive. This is a place where every decision can mean life or death, not only for yourself but your community.

WHAT YOU GET

In this 250+ page book you get the setting and a bunch of new rules and options for a post-apocalyptic world. This includes...

4 Races further divided into niches that give them more diversity.
     Humans (True, Darwin, Cayce, Ender)
     Animals (Companion, Spliced, Feral)
     Symbionts (Synth/Plant, Gee/Fungus)
K'Oh (Humanoid mollusks that include Deepers, Evols and Land -Walkers)

9 Classes. 6 are complete reworkings of familiar classes with mechanics tied closer to a post-apocalyptic setting (Focused, Grifter, Rae Weaver, Scavenger, Scrapper, Survivalist), but 3 are new.
     Biosculpter - Master of mutations.
Preserver – Master of ancient lore and technology.
Splice-Master - Master of constructed companions.

27 Archetypes to further add diversity to a class. They include such ones as the Metamorph (for the Biosculpter), Glory-Hound (for the Scrapper), Robo-Splicer (for the Splice-Master) and Leader of the Pack (for the Survivalist).

20 Backgrounds all new and designed for the setting. They include ones such as the Escaped Experiment, Historian and Scrounger.

160+ Mutations. In a world full of genetic mutations, there are many that alter what a being can find as they move through the world, not to mention the fact that almost every race starts out with a random mutation. They include such mutations as Natural Weapon: Antler, Carapace, ESP: Perceive Thoughts, Life Energy Transference and Create Sap: Acid.

60+ Artifacts are there to be discovered by the characters. They include such items as the Medi-Kit, Power Armor, Pulse Blade and Clone Booth.

40+ New Monsters. The world is rife with genetically bred monstrosities and creatures that have had plenty of time to evolve into new species. They include such monsters as the Coy'Rock (coyotes able to appear as ordinary stone), Gore-Hog (a deadly boar) and the Vamp-Cat (an incredibly cute housecat that slowly drains your life away).

Starter Adventure. You can start a campaign with Adventures in Shepherding wherein the group is brought together to explore a valley for new grazing grounds for the sheep of Ever-Wall. This is a mission of dire importance to the community as a drought has put their food staple in jeopardy.

THE WORLD SETTING

This setting portion of the book also includes an extensive look at the world and its locations. It presents the community of Ever-Wall built under a broken mega-highway, an excellent place to start a group of characters. Also included is an overview of the world and many of its secrets.

Also included are rules for unusual weather, mutagens, radiation and fauna.

STRETCH GOALS

Can we add more to the game? Of course we can, but that takes time. However, we will release the following as PDFs if we hit their goals:

$7,500     5 Random Loot Tables: A set of random tables that expands the table of 100 Trinkets provided in the book. These are designed for specific building/ruin types.

$10,000   5 More Monsters: More monsters to bring the total to 45+ new post-apocalyptic monsters!

$15,000   Adventure: The Great Hunt is a yearly competition between community members to see which group can bring back the most food. This year it is even more vital as food has become scarce due to the freakish weather.

$20,000   5 More Random Loot Tables: 5 more random tables; these are designed for specific room types (labs, offices, etc.).

$25,000   5 More Monsters: This will bring the total of monsters up to 50+

$30,000  Adventure: The Mall. The characters literally fall into an ancient shopping center left undisturbed since the Crash.

Risks and challenges

The document is already written and playtesting has been ongoing. What needs to be done now includes formatting (mostly to make it look professional), fine-tuning and any potential stretch goals (though even the stretch goals have been started).

That being said this is my first Kickstarter project so while I've bought into other Kickstarters and spent a good deal of time educating myself on the Kickstarter process, I expect some surprises along the way.

We've gone with a mostly hands-off approach for printing and shipping because, honestly, printing is something I know very little about. We decided to leave that process in the hands of professionals so we could instead focus on making a good product.
