OKAY HERE'S THE DEAL. We were all set to press the new CD with this awesome package design by Kallisti:Design that included a die-cut, cardboard O-ring, when BAM. New record label. UNH.
As excited as we are about said new record label, they weren't super into my crazy and completely-nonsensical-from-a-cost-perspective packaging idea, but I'm going to be highly unsatisfied with the physical product if we don't have it. My solution? BRUTALLY MURDER YOU ALL. Once I realized that wouldn't actually solve anything, I settled on a Kickstarter project instead. This will also provide me a sweet opportunity to distribute the locals-only second half of the EP, featuring all the best of the San Francisco Bay Area's industrial music community.
Why are we doing this, you might ask? First of all, because the artwork with the O-ring looks fantastic, and it's done, and it would be a shame if people didn't get to see it. The era of the CD may be drawing to a close, but we still need good products to sell at shows (and as you probably know, merch sales at shows are a primary source of operating revenue for any band,) and for that to work we need to have the best-looking product possible. Plus, I want my artistic vision fulfilled and whathaveyou.
The specially packaged CDs will NOT be available through Metropolis, and we don't have an online store- in fact, the only way you'll be able to get them (at least initially) is either through this project or at one of our shows. And the bonus remixes are AWESOME, and I am serious.
Hugs and kisses,
